IP Boosts still REALLY, REALLY suck

Even during this Party IP weekend. Unless you're somebody who pays for 450 ip champions with RP, there is almost no point in buying an IP boost. Lets do some math here:

Buying 4800 champion with RP - 5.45 IP for 1 RP Buying 6300 champion with RP - 6.46 IP for 1 RP Buying rune pages with RP - 10.68 IP for 1 RP Buying name change with RP - 10.69 IP for 1 RP

And let's face it. Most of us don't even buy champions with RP unless they're on sale. Some people even don't spend RP on anything but skins. For the overwhelming majority of league players, the value of 1 riot point is at least 10 IP.

Now, in this Party IP weekend, you get around 350 IP for a win. A two win boost would give you 700 IP for 160 IP, or 4.38 IP for 1 RP. A four win boost is not much better at 4.83 IP for 1 RP, and a 10 win boost is 5.22 IP for 1 RP. Let's say you no life the entire weekend and manage to get 20 wins. That's still a mere 5.6 IP per RP.

How about the IP boosts per some duration? Assuming 200 IP for a loss and 350 IP for a win, you would have to play 10 games for a 1 day IP boost to break even. The 3 day boost is better, only requiring you to play 19 games over the weekend to break even. That sounds good, but you still have to consider the opportunity cost of spending hours upon hours spending League. At some point, you wouldn't want to play anymore, and the game doesn't become fun. You would be much better off with a minimum wage job to buy RP in those instances.

TLDR: Even in the party IP weekend, IP boosts really, really suck. If you buy an IP boost when it's not party IP weekend, Riot just ripped you off.

One minor correction: unless they've (recently) changed it, per-win IP boosts just give a flat amount regardless of how much you earn. The value is roughly the max you'd get for a normal game, ranging from ~70 on Dominion to ~140 on SR.
