So i'm silver 1 and there is now 66% of the player base ranked lower then me. When I chat with the people in my team it's all about what change riot made in season 4. Those players have, like me, played several years and thousands of ranked games. It makes sens that the highest 33% of the players are old players.

A new player arrive in rank for the first time 0 won games in rank. 1 month before the end of the ranked season... With which players is he paired for his first match ? S1 players !

Why not matching him with players in their first season ? Obviously the newest players will be less skilled in average then the oldest players in average. So there should be no reason to pit them against the highest 50% of your player base.

tldr; Send the year 1 ranked players in their first game in a game with other year 1 players : somewhere in bronze.

how long you've been playing isn't an indication of your skill. There are players that started this seasons that are higher rank than you, even though you've been playing for years. There are players that have been playing longer than you that are still b5.

Gotta disagree and agree. This is my first year playing ranked and I am currently gold 5. Most of the people in my area tend to actually be newer to the game than people in bronze. This is because newer players look to improve. But it is odd that people in high silver/low gold get placed with people who play at a bronze level.
