I was playing Malzahar 
and lost lane to Kassadin 
(yeah I'm bad, but cut me a little slack -- this was still before Riot changed his Rift Walk to Rift Limp).
But after mid game I started crushing him in team fights because all I had to do was ult him.
Kassadin said "malz im coming for you with an item to make you cry"
As soon as he came out of the fog of war I checked his build. He'd bought a Mercurial Scimitar.
