I was playing Varus Varus ADC the other day and the mid laner on my team said he mains Varus and to rush a item 3085 Runnan's Hurricane first.

Like ugh, made me cringe just at the thought of starting with that.

Technically, the term is an acronym. It means S.S., or Stay Safe. Something you would associate with the acronym MIA, or Missing in Action.

I mean, not EVERY single adc needs to start with IE. Its crazy, I know. But for champions like Vayne , Varus , Twitch , Corki and Lucian , there are much better alternatives.

Trifroce rush improves his damage through his passive, as well as makes him more durable. Botrk rush makes his ult stronger and improves his passive greatly. You could techincally go for an early ghostblade too, its iffy, but could be useful against an armored team. Its not all about his Q, remember.

All of those items have awful build paths for laning phase, tho. I'd much. much rather have a B.F.S. than a Phage, Cutlass or Brutalizer on Lucian.

They're great when completed, definitely, but you're giving up a lot of early game power by not going for IE.

because infinity is so much better, bloodthrister (life steal in general) won't work well unless you have the damage to back it up, so rushing it is generally a bad idea because it will hardly heal you early game and you'll lose out on the boosted crits from infinity edge which always gives adc's an amazing power spike. infinity edge is the holy grail of most adc's.

In fairness, BT is situationally a solid item to rush on Lucian because of how his Q/Passive works.

Blood Thirster item 3072 is a "Defensive" item for lifesteal.

It's also that item commonly used to make sure you last during fights in lane or just in a teamfight.

Of course, you should have went for an Infinity Edge item 3031 first to make sure you do higher damage than the other person.

If you are already stomping the enemy, IE is so you can hit them harder and force THEM to try and build BT to stay alive. Doesn't mean they will.

When the ADC thinks they're better than everybody else and acts like an asshole

When your jungler says they're gonna gank but just stands in the ganking bush while you get your ass beat in mid, then jumps out and gets killed too.

When thresh misses by 60 degrees with his hook.

When your ADC says "Enemy mage I'm gonna duel you at Dragon" and then your whole team gets killed in a teamfight because the ADC was dicking off.

My old gameplay. It's amazing how much you can improve in a couple months of playing, especially with inconsistent connection (as in, playing 4 out of 7 days, due to no access). Alternatively - jungle Vayne. I thought of it myself, once. It's stupid. It didn't help that I literally just said "adc" with the intent of going in as Vayne.
