i think what's more mind-blowing is that people can have 3000 ranked games and still be in silver
As a college student who runs high end Ansys and MATLAB, I can vouch that there can be times when there is nothing else to do but piss away time. LoL can provide a good time pissing function.
Ya, and I'm sitting here at 13. At least it didn't take me 6.5 months to finish placements like last season :3

Eh, that's what a minimum of 100 hours? Seems reasonable for a diehard league player.
As someone who plays League every day at almost all times, i have only 60 games in Ranked so far. That person must be REALLY tryharding or just doesn't have any other life to live such as going to school or anything like that. 300 games right now is a bit extreme.
I have almost 200... 113W/84L And I'm stuck in Silver 1 for 25 games :/

Took me a month to get gold 120 ranked games play and I only play ranked like 3-4 times a week for 6-8 hours
It's very possible in the open mid scenario. Lots of sub-20 minute games and you can play about 30 games per day. I've seen someone having ~100 games played 4 days into the season on qt's stream.
That's not even that much. Replace that time with average watched TV and you'll find LoL is way more hours than that.
I'm right at 200 this season.
