Can stop Sion's ultimate. Not joking, this thing counts as terrain and is placed immediately on use with no animation. So if you see Sion ulting, you can force-stun him.

Is there anyway to get him trapped running (at least until the ult times out), by putting several portals at the proper angles? Like deflect him with one portal and have someone waiting to deflect him with another? Also if his teammate drops a portal, will it count as terrain too?

Not everyone can afford to buy ZZ'rot early on enough for it to matter that they have it for Sion, but there's always these champions anyway.
Yes now the main strat to stop Sion is to rush a portal and wait for him to ult and then drop it in front of him. That'll make his already shity winrate drop into hell for sure.
Don't forget the Thresh lantern stopping him.
