Hello everyone, today we're very happy to announce a big change at Riot, and the long awaited answer to the question, "When are we putting the S in Riot Games?"

We've come up with an elegant solution to that; first I'd like to talk about the coming change to our branding, then I'll give the floor to Riot Judas to talk about a new addition to our product line-up to celebrate the big change!

Riot's New Look Starting next week, our brand name will be changing from Riot Games, to Riot Activities. We're a company full of creative minds, and to limit those folks to just video games has left some people feeling a bit stifled lately. Our teams have some big ideas about the future of Riot, and we're excited to hit the ground running.

Here's Riot Judas with all the details of our upcoming release to join LoL.

League of Knitting

Hey folks, Riot Judas here! It's an honor to be the first person to unpack this one for you guys. This is a huge project that's been in the oven for nearly a year now. It's gotten really hard to keep tight-lipped about it, so this is a huge relief.

League of Knitting is Riot's next adventure into digital entertainment. This will be a free-to-knit experience, you can jump in and start knitting without paying a dime, completely free! We've seen the wild success of knitting in real life, and we're confident that you guys are going to love this.

Every Color of the Rainbow

When you first jump in, things may be a bit overwhelming; that's okay! We're starting you off easy with a selection of three yarn colors, and of course a free pair of knitting needles. You'll earn points every time you complete a project, and those points can be spent on unlocking new colors over time. There are over 10,000 different colors to choose from, the world is at your needle-tips!

Speaking of needles, you'll be able to customize those, too. They'll come in a variety of textures and colors, like Wood-grain, gold, marble, and more. You can pick your first pair of knitting needles completely free, and then spend the points you earn to unlock more later on.

Slow? No! Fast, fast, fast!

We know some of you will be chomping at the bit to get started on bigger and better projects, so we're happy to provide you with an opportunity to quickly and easily unlock more colors. Every yarn color will be available individually for $2.50 in our in-app store. Additionally, you can buy color packs containing 10 different colors, for only $10! Upon release of LoK, we'll have a special limited-time offer to buy a "Rainbow of Love" color-pack, featuring all of the basic colors at a discounted price. 1% of the proceeds from Rainbow of Love color-packs will go to The Trevor Project, an organization fighting to save young LGBT lives.

Be the Coolest Cat in the Cradle

For those of you who really want to strut your stuff, we'll be periodically releasing special skins for your knitting needles. Going on an oceanic adventure and need to knit up some cozy clothing? We've got you covered.

LoK's first needle-skin will be "A Whale of a Tale", your needles will be in the shape of a briny harpoon, weather-worn ropes coiled around it, with the skull of a great sea-beast at the top, dripping salty water and foam from it's skeletal maw!
