eheheeh this gif does explain the feeling, same when you get ok champ and have 2 rerolls, then you do it twice just to get terrible one :( :D
To be fair, as long as you aren't Poppy most fighters and tanks can build 
for infinite sustain. You just need to dive in, figure out how to escape, wait 8 seconds, then dive in again until the enemy's whittled down for your teammates.
