Actually I'd say it's the opposite, people see her as a merciless soul eater fox who just wants to trick you and kill you, but we the Ahri mains know that's not the full story :< Her dream is to become human and be part of society, but for that she has to consume the life essence of other people. She knows killing innocents is wrong and that's why she joined the League. Nobody there is innocent, and they'll all kill her if she doesn't kill them first. It's quite the depressing lore really, knowing that your goal is impossible because trying to become human only makes others see you as a heartless monster :(
