You don't necessarily need ludens, but that or rabbadons is a good way to deal some damage late game. While tanky builds are ok for some supports (leona, tahm, and thresh) Bard and Nami can be built as utility supports. I modified my build above accordingly. That build provides your team with a lot of helpful things:
allows you to slow people down as well as get you gold
lowers enemies' attack speed
helps out your binded teammate's damage output, as well as your own (
can work too)
's active can scout areas ahead of you so you can safely use

With no vision in the jungle, i stopped mid-teleport to move to another bush out of PURE INTUITION after realizing that the enemy ez never used his ult during that team fight!......while i was teleporting, i saw the ez ult fly right over the bush that i initially tried to use teleport to base from.

You made me remember of two times I stole the baron.
In one, I was using mid. I polymorphed the enemy 
(thus preventing him from using Smite) then I used "Help, Pix" on him, and used Glitterlance to stole the baron.
In the other, I was using 
support. Enemy 
and 
were almost finishing off the Baron, when I suddenly used "Elastic Slingshot" to jump on them and then I ulted. Managed to sucessfully stole the Baron, despite the fact that, as a support, I didn't have any offensive items, runes, or masteries.
