I see Dr. Cox as the end result of support mains who have been through the associated abuse. By extension, I also like to think of Scrubs, if you rearrange the context even slightly, that it's an allegory for MOBAs.

Why support is fun...

Looks at the minimap to see 3 enemies coming down to botlane towards me and my ADC Hmmm... Friend(ADC) Ashe Ah crap this is gonna suck Me(Supp) Braum Nah this is gonna be easy, follow my lead. Begins immediately running at the enemies Friend: Uh dude...we cant... Me: LEEEEROOOOYYYYY Friend begins firing arrows as i Q and tank the Kha damage Morg Q at the Ashe, i immediatly W E to Ashe and block it Enemy Draven goes down, Kha leaps at Ashe, i Ult and Q him, he dies to Ashe DOUBLE KILL Morgana begins running, i Q and exhaust her TRIPLE KILL Friend: Dude...i took no damage that entire fight... Braum Damage is nothing as long as im near HAHAHAHA

From then on when i play Braum my friends laughs at the plays made and always says he feels safe whenever im near

I became a support main because I realized eventually that I was kind of good at it. I tried adc. I tried mid. I never really tried top or jungle, but top's kind of similar to mid in that regard and jungle's kind of like adc. I mean, I'm decent at top and mid but horrible at adc and jungle. I can't really carry a team. However, I've discovered that I'm quite good at having someone else carry a team.

I became a support main because no one else was willing to do it, mostly because the climate back in 2013 made the support pretty much a hate magnet. I'd attribute it more to the way Helots were treated in Sparta. They had no status and were meant to provide all the needs and wants of the ruling class (AKA Spartans) while getting shit on the whole time. I remember that people would report the support simply because that's what you did, no matter how well they performed, and a support getting kills was seen as stealing glory from the rest of the team.

So in this climate, imagine being that one douchebag (of which there were too many; at least two per team per game) who continues this cycle of hate, and then imagine that you didn't call any of the roles fast enough and bam, suddenly you're the support. It didn't matter if it was normals, ranked, co-op vs. AI, or whatever, people would throw cosmic shit fits and sabotage the whole game and say things that would get you permabanned, even if they were streaming or recording at the time. After the countless times this happened, I was fed up with it and I elected to be the support just to have a normal game where people wouldn't be hellbent on getting themselves banned.

My pattern of play has its own history that predates League and even onling gaming in general. Before I came to League, I played a lot of TF2. When the Sniper vs. Spy update came out, we'd have more snipers and spies than anything else combined, and this included medics. No one wanted to be a medic, so that's what I started playing as more often than not, and I got really good at it. Before TF2, I used to play a lot of Tekken with other people, and I'd pick more obscure or difficult characters like Yoshimitsu simply because I knew all of his sword skills (most everyone else would pick Brian Fury or Paul Phoenix). Before that, in whatever fighting game I'd play (or just games in general), I'd always play as a female character because the little punk kids of the 90s always shat on female characters as being weak or inferior, so I forced myself to get good with them and crush my opponents just to humiliate them.

So I guess you could consider the origins of my style of play as going against the grain of what's popular.

jungling and supporting don't have to be different play styles jungling is just like supporting 5 lanes at once

i usually use lee sin as my jungler since he can be played many ways and i've found one that resembles a support style gameplay but is still able to hold his own in a fight

I used to play Sona jungle quite a lot. I even managed to be ahead of the enemy Rammus and Elise in the games I tried it.

I like support cause

Top is currently frustrating since my main is so underwhelming right now and I somehow keep getting jungles who avoid top like the plague.
Mid is almost always taken
Jungle is... lets just say it's best for everyone I avoid it in pvp .__.
ADC has too much focus on cs's and that not my strong suit

Support allows me to not have to worry about killing minions, I can feel useful by setting up kills for teammates and enjoy the thanks I get for making saves, weather it's eating someone as TahmKench , blocking skillshots as Braum or playing Bard , ulting an enemy karthus as he ults.

I became a support main because I was too passive to call roles while levelling and never actually got to learn to play anything else because of it

I became a support main because when I was new, I saw a Madlife Thresh video. And a friend showed me the champ. Now, I can play any support (except Taric and Morg) and a few odd ball picks.
