Discord is great. It doesn't go against the ToS; all it does is provide an alternative method of communication.

Enjoy! It's very easy to set up your own channel, add additional rooms and text chats, jump in and out of rooms with a click. You can adjust others' volume level individually, or mute them entirely. You can mute or deafen yourself with a button.

I do recommend downloading the desktop app rather than using it through your browser. That way you can use push-to-talk without having the window focused.

At the current size it would be fine on a paragraph long post but when you only post one or two sentences it ends up doubling or tripling the size of your posts. Long posts are fine but with that signature it just leaves a lot of useless blank space and can be irritating.

Maybe have a shrunk version for commenting and use the current version for new posts or very long comments?

Yea it's free and has good sound quality. Doesn't cost money to pay for server like teamspeak/

On a serious note, discord is an absolutely amazing VOIP program. 100000000 times better than Skype. It's safe, servers are stable, it's free, the GUI is extremely well layed out, and the overall functionality to the program is so much better than any other chat program I've seen (basing this off TeamSpeak, Raidcall, Skype, and Curse). One function that is missing unfortunately, is the ability to Control-F to find past messages. And one other thing that would be great if they added would be, some sort of screen sharing/webcam function possibly similar to what Skype has.

Yeah, Discord is perfectly safe! I am in 30 rooms (the notifications are a nightmare if you don't turn them off,) and I even got a few of my IRL friends to stop using Skype cause cough it's trash cough and got them on Discord too! :)

You don't need to download it if you don't want to. You can use it in a web browser, which is what I do.

Safer than Skype by far. Skype ads have tried to give me viruses on numerous occassions. Also is easier on the comp than Skype, and you can give people temporary invites. It was built basically just for gamers.
