Rank The League Nations Based On the Champions Available in their Faction In-Game

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/77/League_of_Legends_logo.png Who would be the best and rise to the top? In a series of Summoner's Rift matches, which nation would be the winner? And past that, who would be the closest to winning, the furthest from winning, and in between? NOTE: This is based on in-game power, not in the lore. Champions are sorted here based on where they first appeared in the lore or the nation they are notably aligned to. If a champion does not fit into any of the two above noted categories, they will be a member of the RUNETERRA faction. Also, even if the character is evil and wants to likely destroy their own nation, they will still be a part of that nation.

DEMACIA Trained, vigilant nation of soldiers who's history involves fighting against the malevolent magic powers of the world. Fiora Galio Garen JarvanIV Lucian Lux Poppy Quinn Shyvana Sona Vayne XinZhao

NOXUS Horde-style, militaristic nation that believes the strongest should rule the world. Those they conquer are offered a chance to rise with them. Annie Cassiopeia Darius Draven Katarina Kled Leblanc Morgana Riven Sion Swain Talon Urgot Vladimir

IONIA Spiritual nation that has the closest connection to the magic of nature. Ahri Akali Jhin Irelia Ivern Karma Kennen LeeSin MasterYi Rakan Rengar Shen Soraka Syndra Varus MonkeyKing Xayah Yasuo Zed

PILTOVER Technologically advanced city that has become the center of progress and trade in Runeterra. Caitlyn Camille Ezreal Heimerdinger Jayce Orianna Vi Ziggs

ZAUN Chemical focused underbelly of Piltover that has developed into a city all it's own. Science runs without boundaries. Blitzcrank DrMundo Ekko Janna Jinx Singed Twitch Viktor Warwick Zac

BILGEWATER Sailor colonized series of islands that are notorious for their black market business and pirates. Fizz Gangplank Graves Illaoi MissFortune Nautilus TwistedFate

FRELJORD Frozen wasteland home to barbaric tribes and an old, sleeping, malevolent force of nature. Southern border is home to a more tundra-like environment. Anivia Ashe Brand Braum Gnar Gragas Lissandra Nunu Olaf Sejuani Trundle Tryndamere Udyr Volibear

SHURIMA Once powerful nation of gods, now barren desert full of nothing but wanderers and tomb raiders. Recent developments have begun to make gods walk among men once again. Amumu Azir Kassadin Nasus Rammus Renekton Sivir Skarner Taliyah Xerath Zilean

THE VOID Separate, incredibly dangerous dimension filled with dangerous monsters that is connected to this world through those that worship it and the ancient city of Icathia. Chogath Khazix KogMaw Malzahar RekSai Velkoz

SHADOW ISLES Once known as the Blessed Isles, this series of islands was damned by the mad and grieving Ruined King through the Black Mist. Elise Evelynn Hecarim Kalista Karthus Maokai Mordekaiser Thresh Yorick

BANDLE CITY A hidden city within Runeterra inhabited by the enigmatic, magical race known as yordles. Corki Lulu Rumble Teemo Tristana Veigar

MOUNT TARGON An incredibly large mountain found far away from civilization. Here, mortals worship a pantheon of gods that are incredibly powerful and inhabit mortal bodies to interact with the normal plane of existence more directly. AurelionSol Diana Leona Nami Pantheon Taric

RUNETERRA Those who are not bound to or worshiped within a nation, or bound to a nation too small to be truly considered a united team. Aatrox Alistar Bard Fiddlesticks Jax Kayle Kindred Malphite Nidalee Nocturne Ryze Shaco TahmKench Zyra

WHO WILL WIN?

Update #1: So far, we have a lot of love for Ionia and Bilgewater with a bit of mixed love for Piltover, Zaun, Shadow Isles, and Noxus. The list is changing as people make arguments for changes that I confirm on. The biggest recent one is that Nami has been added to Mount Targon due to her close tie to the region, meaning Targon can have more than one team composition.

Some examples teams:

Demacia- Garen JarvanIV Lux Vayne Sona Well balanced team that relies on good engagements and poking the enemy from afar.

Noxus- Darius Sion Katarina Draven Morgana Hyper aggressive composition that benefits spectacularly from killing enemies.

Ionia- Shen Ivern Syndra Xayah Rakan Very tactical team composition that can surprise their enemies with deceivingly high amount of burst.

Piltover- Camille Vi Ziggs Caitlyn Orianna Poke heavy team with a few skirmishers to close the gap and finish off any escaping enemies.

Zaun- Singed Zac Viktor Twitch Janna Very sneaky, strange composition that can surprise their enemies in various ways while wearing them down slowly at the same time.

Bilgewater- Gangplank Graves Fizz MissFortune Nautilus Tricky composition that relies on making use of their abilities to pull off large combos and avoid their opponent's.

Freljord- Tryndamere Nunu Anivia Ashe Braum Incredibly resilient and slow heavy team composition that has many ways to contest and take objectives on the map.

Shurima- Renekton Skarner Azir Sivir Zilean Very powerful early game composition that transitions into a hard engage team composition once team fights start.

The Void- Chogath Khazix Velkoz KogMaw Malzahar Incredibly hard scaling team composition that aims to take over the game in mid-late game. Have a few tricks up their sleeves to survive the early game.

Shadow Isles- Yorick Hecarim Karthus Kalista Thresh Incredibly powerful team fight composition that can also slowly split push the enemies to death if they choose.

Bandle City- Teemo Rumble Veigar Tristana Lulu Squishy, yet tactical composition that can destroy a team fight through correct use of their ultimates. Powerful late game.

Mount Targon- Leona Pantheon Diana AurelionSol Taric Incredibly good at diving the enemy while taking as little damage as possible.

Runeterra- Malphite Kindred Ryze Kayle Zyra A team that, with coordination, can initiate a fight with incredibly powerful ultimates and a ton of sustained damage to follow up.

For those that are a little overwhelmed by the OP. Examples of what each team can look like and what they can bring to the table.

I love Ionia...

LeeSin Yasuo Rengar Never mind.

Guyy Fieri4/29/2017, 6:04:50 PM4 votes

I feel like Kled oughta have a team all to himself. He is, after all, the lone wolf champ

Lord Galvatron4/29/2017, 5:58:47 PM3 votes

Tahm Kench isn't bound to Bilgewater, he's the ferryman of Runeterra.

JRobin314/29/2017, 10:48:26 PM3 votes

IONIA wins:

  1. deep champion pool
  2. Ivern jungle
  3. new champions (Xayah/Rakan)

Sample Team: MasterYi Ivern Ahri Xayah Soraka

MOUNT TARGON loses: only one team composition that gets banned out in champion select (or counter picked)...

Fondling Gems4/29/2017, 8:12:09 PM3 votes

I feel slightly more understanding as to why the Targon faction on the PBE discord is composed of only 4 of us now.

I know you're talking in game but's let take like 5 minutes for lore Plus I wrote this before noting your note

From a lore perspective, Targon wins because cosmic star-forging space dragon. Kind of hard to beat that Honorary mention to the Void and Shadow Isle because they have a ? for their total power in the lore. Runeterra as well because they have the few who could contest a cosmic star-forging space dragon. The embodiment of death, another cosmic being, world runes, etc.

So I'm not going to count runeterra because those champs have such a varied comp that it's impossible to tell:

#Demacia

The biggest strenght of Demacia is huge "Fuck you" ults that blow up the entire team. They're great in teamfights and are particularly decent at all stages of the game. Nothing's really "special" about them beyond those ults though and at most they're usually serviceable.

#Freljord

Great engage potential and a hardy nature of whittling down enemies. Freljord is a team that's very "First in, last out" when it comes to how they play. The downside is if you burst them, they're rather fucked.

#Piltover

The Kings/Queens of "Fuck this one guy". Vi, Camille, Caitlyn, Ezreal and more all have abilities and ults that really work best when you're hitting one person. That said, they're not usually hyper-hyper carries and can be outclassed by more specialized teams./AoE comps.

#Zaun

A literal grabbag of everything. However, a key fact about Zaunites: They. Don't. Die. Ekko, Singed, Warwick, Mundo, Zac. This is a team that will not fucking let up and is going to come back from the brink of death. That said, they're tricky to use. Don't expect a totally coordinated team.

#Noxus

Brutal, savage and bursty. This is a team that wants to fuck you up as fast as possible. Even champions from Noxus that focus on build-up like Darius are just building up to burst your hard. However, if that initial burst doesn't murder you, they're often blown on resources and cooldowns. Strike hard, strike fast.

#Shurima

A mixture of early game and hyper scaling. Depending on the Shuriman you take, you're either getting an early game monster that'll push hard and win ASAP (Renekton, Sivir, etc) or you're getting monsters who will scale into eternity and 1v5 (Azir, Nasus).

#Ionia

Too much of a grabbag to really tell. Super diverse.

#Shadow Isles

Slow, trudging beasts that are going to grind you out hard. While they don't have lots of engage nor much in the way of burst, they're going to drag you down throughout the game until they can eventually just crash a wave of minions on your tower.

#Bilgewater

Explosive carries that are going to AOE your face off. Between Illaoi, Plank's barrels, Graves' shotgun and Miss Fortune's bullettime? Best stay clear. That said, only GP and Graves really excel at 1v1 dueling.

#Void

You nailed it with lategame carries.

So realistically, who wins? It's a grabbage. Some cities might beat others. If I had to guess? Ionia seems to edge it out by sheer virture of how many options they have and all the varied comps you can make, although that's because of Ionia's massive champion pool.

N Komaeda4/29/2017, 11:51:51 PM2 votes

Bilgewater. With a MF & Nautilus Botlane, Fizz Midlane, Illaoi Top and Graves Jungle you have the perfect mix of damage, tankiness, control, zoning and cohesion.

PlsCheckThisBush4/30/2017, 2:15:26 AM2 votes

Chogath RekSai Velkoz KogMaw Malzahar

Deal with our 5k+ HP front line diving you and eating you while our puppy shreds your entire team. Space aids and research on the side for extra poke, please.

Also, we're bigger than you. Yes, we lift...entire teams up into the air. Don't you dare let us get to late game. We will eventually Devour the entire map - you'll probably confuse us with a mobile Baron Nashor running around.

Support Boyyy4/30/2017, 3:16:50 AM2 votes

In my opinion it would come done to Ionia, Demacia, Shadow Isles, and Zaun. Piltover lacks a real support champion, Noxus doesn't have any support champions, I know Morgana is with them but that's outdated lore and she's getting new lore soon, Bilgewater might stand a chance but all their champions are easily countered, The Void also lacks any support champions, Bandle City doesn't have a jungler, Mount Targon lacks an ADC, The Runeterra faction also doesn't have an ADC unless you want Kindred ADC, and finally while the Freljord does have a champion for every role, none of their champions are really stand out strong or impressive, honestly in my opinion they have the most balanced champions.

zero3564/29/2017, 10:00:19 PM2 votes

Based on the most recent lore, I believe Nami is a part of Ionia

Runeterra has no cohesion. Lots of choices, but nothing cohesive and no adc. Targon has two few choices and no adc

There's a reason adc has been in every meta since like season two.

Bandle city has no tank, so I don't like their chances in that regard. At least someone beefy is usually helpful.

LostFr0st4/29/2017, 5:07:56 PM2 votes

(Freljord), Noxus, Void, Bandle, and 'Runeterra' don't even have updated lore yet. Idk if there can be a realistic 'vote' until then.

Legacy Hydralpha4/30/2017, 1:58:08 PM1 votes
  1. Runeterra - I love Bard and Aatrox. Next?
  2. Zaun - It's a very interesting area with a lot of cool champs (Blitzcrank, Zac, Ekko, etc.)
  3. Ionia - Ionia has some of the most fun champions in it. People love to play Jhin, Lee Sin, Rakan, etc.
  4. Void - Vel'Koz was my first true mid-laner.
  5. Noxus - I am Sir Admiral Major Kled
  6. Bandle City - I am a dirty Teemo and Veigar lover.
  7. Bilgewater - Has Twisted Fate and Graves. And you thought EzrealxTaric was the best gay couple.
  8. Shadow Isles - I love
  9. Shurima - OK
  10. Piltover - Most of the Piltie champions are dicks. But it has fun champs like Vi and Ziggs.
  11. Freljord - Braum is like the main Freljordian champ I like, and I don't usually like tank supports.
  12. Demacia - A lot of the champions aren't fun for me, or I hate them (like Vayne and Fiora). At least I like Galio.
Guyy Fieri4/29/2017, 6:05:50 PM1 votes

Also, why no Kassadin in with the Void? If you're including Malzahar? I guess maybe it's because Kassadin is a void entity who is fighting against the void?

Where is my riven.

She should go under Runeterra or Noxus.

BoilTheOil4/29/2017, 8:45:17 PM1 votes

probably bildgewater look at their champs man

YOUGOTKILLEDBRO4/29/2017, 8:57:50 PM1 votes

I am going to make a tier list I guess xD

Tier 1: Ionia, Bilgewater, Shadow Isles, Zaun Tier 2: Frejilord, Mount Targon, Piltover, Shurima, The Void, Runeterra Tier 3: Demacia, Noxus, Bandle City

I think Iona is the best without a doubt, and everything is in an order behind that.

Thewannabegamer4/29/2017, 9:49:18 PM1 votes

I know for some reason the website says morg counts as noxus but lore wise i think she really belongs in runeterra m8

The Lexer4/29/2017, 9:59:23 PM1 votes

I'm liking how Bligewater looks. Lots of individual power with Fizz, Graves, and Naut and good aoe ultis in MF and GP/Illaoi

Inting Pillow4/29/2017, 10:18:15 PM1 votes

Piltover, Ziggs and Caitlyn sieging together is super hard to beat. Put Ori or Heim as support, Jayce/Camille top and Vi as the jungler and it's a very simple win. Noxus does have lots of really good champs though.
