Malzahar is so nerfed right now its not even funny that is why a lot of people are trying to move him to the Support section because he can't compete with Yasuo, Talon, Zed, Fizz, and Ahri any more at the higher elos.
The really really stupid thing is that a lot of player's Bought into the idea that he can support. But he can't. He has no Ally Champ Heals, and no QWE CC. He offers NO PEEL.
Basically, about the only thing he can do is poke, and since they nerfed his range, and his voidling frenzy is now removed, his poke is not so great.
The fact of the matter is, once the enemy ADC / Jg / Mid purchases QSS, its totally over for Malzahar. Malzahar is very dependent on having his ult when they attack him under tower, and ANY GOOD Malz player knows that a Yasuo / Talon / Fizz with QSS will totally destroy him because it renders his Ult useless.
(and let me remind you in case you forgot, after the rework, QSS seems to also affect the actual damage in addition to the suppression, which it is NOT supposed to do).
Its a sad fact that Malzahar has been slated to the refuse pile of garbage.
If you look at the really great Malzahar players who also play him a lot... you will notice they switched to other champs like Swain. Swain provides more tank, more sustain, UN-interruptible ults, and much better late game scaling.
Its too bad. Because Malzahar used to be fun.
I haven't played League in 6 months Malzahar is played as a support now?!
