When the people you're paired with sit down for a League game they don't actually have time to play.

Emergencies do come up. Unless you're god and like can predict all real life emergencies... like the fire alarm going off (is illegal to ignore in my area and a 30,000$ fine if you're caught not evacuating the building)... a hostage situation (has happened to me) so the police evacuate your building (they are very uncaring that you're mid game). Your dog having an emergency (vomiting, diarrhea, just standing there pressing head against the wall). Or perhaps you should just ignore all that and stay in game.

EDIT: Oh! I had a squirrel take out a transformer outside my house once. Needless to say, my power did not remain on.
