I think that if we made URF available only on Fridays, it would tone back most harassment and meta-pushing because it's only up one day of the week (and the most fun day of the week, too.)

Give people a reason to stay home playing League on a Friday.

No one will rage because it's only up for 1 day of the whole week.

No one will ask for it back when they know when they are able to play it.

No meta will be created because no one should really care. It's just one day out of every week.

Although, since it's only 1 day a week, I think we need to take the bans out. Keep the auto-bans in (Ryze, Yi, Kayle, current Nidalee, etc) but take out the banning process. People should be able to play what they want. Don't add any more champs to the permaban list either; it's only one day, and people know what they are getting into when they play this.

The banning process is a fail safe to allow players to manually remove champions with known issues (Kayle and Jax for example). As well as allowing players to play champions with known counters by banning out those counters, allowing champions that would normally be not viable to have a chance. If you want to play what you want then wait till you're first pick and dont ban it.

Yes, but this isn't meant to be similar to Ranked...those kind of principles don't apply to Urf.

I doubt it would be Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays. That's when LCS is. They don't want to take away from that.

When Riot originally told us they would be doing "rotating game modes", I thought they would be doing just that. Switching the available mode maybe every/every other day or maybe every week. I fail to see how this "one mode up for 2 weeks, then a month of nothing" is at all like rotating game modes.

They should rename them occasional game modes.

It was a bit of a let down, but Riot has a lot to consider with these game modes. For one, they need to popular enough that they have a wide enough player base so you aren't waiting forever in the queue. For two, they can't be TOO popular that they split the player base enough to where regular game modes have too long of a queue time. They have to find a balance between them. Plus, if they stay for too long, people will start to get bored of them. Part of what makes them exicting is that you can't play them 24/7, 7 days a week. Despite what it might seem like, the gamemodes are very limited in what they can offer, especially due to the community's nature to form certain metas on it. If they were to stick around on a semi-permanent basis like this, people would quickly pick out the handful of champions that shine in this gamemode without being overly strong and they would see enough play to where it sort of stagnates the game mode and makes it less interesting. At least, that's my opinion.
