Is the current state of the game depressing for anyone else?

I'm not emotionally invested in the game or anything like that. I don't know. I guess it's sad to see a game die because of its own creators rather than third parties. It's like a son getting killed by his father instead of by a wild animal. It's a massive waste and there's no one to blame but Riot.

Yea i really feel that way. It's really sad to see all this spiraling out of control like this. Its like "Should i stick with it? Do i jump ship? Is this going to get better? Is it really even that bad?" that you have to keep asking yourself. But when a game is at a point where it makes you have to ask such questions its already in a terrible state.

Man, if I could go back to season 3 my life would be complete.

Too much focus on fast paced gameplay and "big" plays for their viewer base of streamed games. When heals where hit with a nerf stick I gave up on ranked play.

I really don't understand all the complaining about how the game has changed, the most significant change is dynamic queue which yeah has it's downsides but is essentially better. Most of the time I don't get grouped with premades or against them unless I am part of one. It's only really bad when compared to solo q at super high rankings, which 98% of the playerbase is not. Overall I'm fine with this season, yeah it's a little harder to climb ranked but seriously so many people take things way out of proportion and are complaining to complain.

I see the DQ complaints here, but that's not the main reason I quit. Since the juggernaut catastrophe, I've had less and less fun playing with every subsequent patch. When preseason 6 started, I'd actually begun to hate the game instead of just disagreeing with its direction like I normally did when some big unwanted change went through. With everything that's happened this season...well, my last game was in the middle of April after taking 1-2 week breaks between handfuls of games and I'm not missing League. I'm only missing what it used to be and hope that in season 7 Riot will come to their senses instead of accelerating this disaster in the making.

That was a dark fucking comparison, but I kinda agree.

It's ironic, that the game got better when it comes to AFKs and negativity of all kinds, but plummets everywhere else from gameplay balance to matchmaking at the same time.

I've been playing this game since S1 and my answer is: I don't know, I don't care, and its still fun :)

I agree, I don't know if depressing is the word but season 6 has been absolute garbage so far. I don't know what Riot's doing but I've been on the brink of uninstalling the game for a while. The problem is like WoW back in the day there is no real alternative to what LoL offers, and like many I'm sure I enjoy the friend aspect above all else. That can only last so long though. Dynamic Q is literally the stupidest thing I've seen a dev do to a multiplayer game of this size, it has completely changed the experience and more often than not it's just frustrating. I'm going to refer to WoW again, the Cataclysm expansion was the turning point -- when competitive players stopped caring. I already see that trend now. League's hey day is all but over especially at this rate

The game is majorly depressing and borderline infuriating right now, too much damage, assassins are stupid op, ap got the short end of the stick, and tanks are made of tissue paper come lategame now.

Hell I dont even play this game for fun anymore, I play it because I feel obligated to since Ive sunk so much time into League in the past.

It's like a son getting killed by his father instead of by a wild animal.

Of all the ways to describe it I'm kind of concerned that you settled on this as the most appropriate analogy...
