Could Lux use a revamp?

Lux is like a turret at near death; high damage is done in short bursts, has long range, is not very mobile, and dies quickly if there aren't minion/champ support.

I don't understand why champs like Lux haven't been touched, especially lately with the new meta being fast marksmen/assassin champs with high dps. Lux is the type of champ who, on her own, is not hard to play. Her E is almost always a guaranteed hit and her q is a sightly above average skillshot in terms of difficulty vs damage. Her w is really a placeholder spell because they couldn't add another combat spell, so I won't touch on that.

The problem with Lux is that you could be doing not much wrong and still die simply because you play Lux. I was playing a 3v3 on TT and the opposition LeBlanc would ignore the tower I was standing under, teleport past my q then burst me down with about 700 damage with >400 ap. She would then escape with her teleport. I had about 30 more hp than her, was standing under a turret, and died in half a second.

Sure, LeBlanc isn't an easy champ. The point isn't that, however. The thing about Lux is that they made her squishy to counteract her ap ability. The thing is, she is not a strong mage anymore with a number of mages with comparable cc, better ap scaling, better sustain, and in some cases higher burst damage. She is squishy, isn't fast, and has pretty high CD all to make her balanced but her ap just doesn't cut it, especially against champs with dashes or teleports because that literally circumvents Lux's arsenal. She's basically become predictable and one dimensional, and most champs have a pretty easy way to avoid taking lots of damage from her.

I personally would just give her extra base MR and armor (she's supposed to be a highly touted mage - surely she has more MR than a tree?) and be done with it. If she can just be killed at will, there's not much point in playing her, is there?

As much as I would accept a flat increase to her resistances, I would disagree with just about all your assessments about her. Lux has extremely high burst, two forms of CC, a strong and versatile shield, and one of the highest ranges in the game. They would have to gimp most or all of that before they can justify giving Lux more survivability, and then Lux would lose a lot of what makes her Lux.

Her squishiness, range, and lack of escape abilities means that you really need to be careful with her positioning. Her Q is great at nabbing people as they come for the all-in, but if you're overextended then it won't matter. Her W is great for mitigating damage and winning trades, but if you're still in dueling range when the shield wears off then you are in trouble. Her E is an amazing poke and is a very useful zoning tool, but if you use it carelessly then you will find it on cooldown in a bad situation.

If your main beef is how easily a champion like LeBlanc can dive you under tower, then I'm sorry to say that you don't have much of a leg to stand on. LeBlanc is a burst assassin with ridiculous mobility. A good LeBlanc will bait your snare then jump in for a combo that will take you from full health to extremely low or dead, coupled with a silence that will leave you unable to respond, then get out before you have any time or ability to react. That isn't a flaw of Lux; that is a strength of LeBlanc.

The only thing that I would ask for fixing on her is making the hitbox on her ult match more closely to the visual. I can't begin to tell you how many times it has missed when it should've hit or hit when it should've missed.

Well, your first problem is that you played her on TT. She is not a twisted treeline champion. One of Lux's biggest strengths is best shown when she has a bigger team to be a frontline for her, and it's also something you failed to mention; her huge range.

Lux is one of the highest ranged mages in the game, behind only Xerath I think. She's basically the caitlyn of mages. When one of your greatest tools in your kit is high range, positioning becomes paramount. I don't think someone with such high range needs anything in the way of buffs to base stats. Just because a meta favors other champions with different skillsets doesn't mean the old champions aren't still good.

I think the real reason you created this thread is because you were upset that the Leblanc 100-0'd you under tower.

She's not the assassin mage that LeBlanc is. Leblanc is designed to run in and do a whole bunch of damage in a small amount of time, and then run away. Lux is actually a really well balanced champion. Her E and R are amazing for teamfights, and her shield is great because you can shield your whole team, her snare can help you run away or assist a teammate. Yes, she can be shut down by more mobile champions, but if you were to complain about that, you could say Jinx needs to be buffed because if someone jumps on her, she can't run away. Basically everyone with skillshots can be circumvented by champs with dashes or teleports. It's just knowing counters for given champs, and having the skill to play Lux properly. I'm gonna agree with Telvarin and say you just made this thread because you're mad you got killed under tower.

I actually love Lux the way she is. I find her talents lie in countering assasins. She has a snare for the bursty types, she can slow them, and she can use a shield when they try to attack her. She seems good to me. Why mess with champions who have nothing wrong with them?

I mostly agree with Abion47's comments, but I do think Lux is weak right now. Buffs to her movement speed, passive, and/or auto attack range and speed could help a lot.

The day they rework my laser-firing gurl is the day I quit.

Yes she could use some sexier skins

As cool as it would be to see Lux get buffed, I'd rather riot not touch her. Bad things usually happens when Riots interferes with a champ. If I lose that champ's play style, I pretty much lose joy in playing league unless they plan on keeping URF mode. So much Fun!
