Taric's mana costs in late-game: Too high?

Whenever I play Taric, even if I get Frozen Heart AND Iceborn Gauntlet, I end up with mana burnouts when using Gemcraft to spam spells. Primarily, it is Imbue that eats up too much of Taric's mana, and it's not even for "making decisions in combat". That's just a tired Riot excuse for why healers have to be held back.

The other issue is that Taric cannot really use Chalice of Harmony or its upgrades due to item slots that have to be used for other items, and because getting a Grail will cause severe CDR overload (leading to wasted stats).

I think Gemcraft could be slightly altered to restore some mana when you hit enemy Champions with it. Rewards using your skills aggressively, but not for farming.

Generally Taric needs kit rework.

But for now, slapping some manaheal on his passive would be nice. I opt for it to be % of Armor, like bonus dmg. Or other way around, % of MR. On Live building MR on Taric, when often needed, seems lackluster.

YES. Since Gemcraft does a tickles worth of damage, maybe let it refund X mana on hit?

I tend to think he needs reduced mana costs at all points in the game.

I liked Taric before they nerfed him. I think they nerfed him to hard after they changed his scaling from mana to amour. Right after the change he was so good but when they nerfed him he became pretty useless. He is pretty good with Graves but that is it.
