I think that Executioner's Calling should be tweaked to apply Grievous Wounds from Physical Damage instead of just a Basic Attack
I just had a match as Garen against a Mundo in the top lane
I got EC as my 3rd item to help me manage Mundo's massive health regen, but besides my initial attack I rarely proc'd it's effect since I was spinning for a majority of the fight
I think this would help physical champions who don't rely entirely on auto-attacks
On basic attacks is good since it is a crit item so you want it on AAers - it just needs an upgrade piece, and i got a slight idea from someone else on the forums to help the passive out when it is upgraded to like a B.F. sword item Executioner's Calling(1900g) + B.F. Sword(1550g) + 350g = 3800g Stats: 80 attack damage, 25% critical strike chance, UNIQUE Passive: Basic attacks apply grievous wounds and deal 30% total attack damage as physical damage over 1.5 seconds.
It is "supposed to be" an AA item because of the crit chance. But everyone should be able to admit that it fails that and doesn't really have an identity.
Just remove the Avarice Blade from the recipe, crit chance really holds this thing down from becoming what it needs to be.
as is, if the situation arises, id get it on twitch. and i love its effeciency. ill be hunting the low HP champs anyway. I might get it on an adc teemo but that about it. the AA really does limit it.
people don't get it for it's Crit chance
people get it because they want Grievous Wounds to deal with a specific situation
AP users have Morellonomicon, which has AP, Mana regen and CDR in addition to GW every single mage can use that item to it's fullest effect
but only AA reliant champions who invest in Crits can use EC to it's fullest
I agree with Stacona's basic idea that this item is only 'broken' because of it's price point. It is too expensive to be a mid range item and also has no upgrade. It is in a sad, middle place. The executioners blade needs to be reduced to ~1500g (and reduce in stats to match). Then it needs an upgrade that is in the 3000-3500g range.
Executioner's Calling used to do damage over time. To make this item better, it simply needs more damage. Or Change it up so that it steals Half the health regen and lifesteal.
