The League System & friends

I just reached Plat again on EUW (Archonshope) but I am completely alone.

There are plenty of people on my friends list that have already reached plat before me, yet non of them are in the same League/Tier as me.

I looked up "more about the league System" through the game client and there is a chapter of "how I can measure up against my friends?"

*"The league system will always try to place you in a league with summoners on your friends list first, provided they're in the same skill tier you are. " *

How did I get separated from my herd ? forever alone :(

I remember that last season I had at best 2 people in my tier. I understand that you can't be put together with every friend on your friends list that is in the same tier list as you. If they did put you and your friends and every friend of that friend and his friends and so on in the same league the whole server would end up together in their respective Tier. But it would be nice if you'd have a least some people in your group :)

A last note, I would really appreciate that we could select our top 5 favorite champions and end up in one of those leagues if the system hasn't put you with your friends. I seem to get stuck in leagues of champions I'm not so fond of :S

What is also very peculiar (not being paranoid or anything >.>) is that of the 94 plat V members of "evelynn's bats, every single one is a "recruit". I hope the system doesn't dump everyone who promoted in the same period of time in the same league until it's full and moves on to a new league ?
