SR VU terrain coding & Jarvan's Ult

If I understand it correctly you have been codding the terrain again for the VU, to achieve a closer match between what people see visually and the actual terrain. Will this have an impact for Jarvan's ult or could you do something similar for him ?

This is a really old bug where people can walk through jarvan's ultimate or use an ability to glitch past it. Example : Vayne tumbling, or Riven with her E ?

tl;dr could you code the terrain for jarvan's ult again so that it now literately becomes : "creating an arena of impassable terrain"

People still should be able to flash over it or wall jump it like any other wall. At the same time people shouldn't be able break free of his ult using abilities that normally wouldn't let them get over normal walls.

From what I have seen Rioters respond with in the past, they are not able to make truly impassible terrain on a temporary basis. Instead, they have to make it with "units", like minions, to occupy the space and prevent standard movement. The same principle is used to make Anivia's wall, a series of units arranged in a line. Even Trundle's Pillar is a single large "unit".

In the case of Tumble or Valor, it is a movement that does not cross terrain. However, it does ignore unit collision. Since Aniva's Crystallize, Trundle's Pillar, and J4's Cataclysm are creating units, not actually terrain, the side effect is that "smaller" movement abilities are able to cross them.

Ultimately, it comes down to the capabilities of the game engine. If the engine is able to support temporary terrain, then the change should absolutely be made to make these abilities make more sense. But if it cannot, there really isn't anything Riot can do about it.

Would just like to point out, though, that in the case of both Vayne and Riven, J4's ult really shouldn't be too much of an impediment. Vayne can just use Condemn to push J4 out, conveniently receiving a nice little "peel circle" of protection. Riven's 3rd Q is able to jump walls thin enough, which would definitely include J4's arena. Actually, if anything, making the arena actual terrain would be a sizable buff to Vayne, because instead of ejecting J4 from the arena, he' be stunned against it while she shreds him with Silver Bolts.

And then, suddenly, Poppy/Anivia becomes the most terrifying lane in existence.

This is mechanics. And good points on mechanics. I like it. I'm glad someone is pointing this out. This could use more upvotes. There are issues clearly with anivia/J4 walls.
