The End of an Era: R.I.P. AD Carries

Question for you all:

Has anyone else experienced a rise in the number of kill lanes in their games? I have now lost 2 games in a row VS 2 AP carries instead of the classic bot duo of ADC/Support. I feel like the new gold items give money for ANYONE too easily, allowing the "support" gain gold even without farming and become a carry. I understand that this sounds like a good concept if you are Leona, Nami, Lulu, or any other support champion, but it seems that a lane now doesnt even need a support.

Now with the Doran's Blade nerf, I cannot even stay in lane to try to counteract the snowballing of the kill lane. AP Carries, in my opinion, deal more damage early game than an AD carry due to being able to burst it out quicker. Allowing 2 AP carries to gain gold early game is killing me, as an adc, early game.

What do you think can/will be done to fix this, if anything at all? Do you think I am wrong and that a kill lane VS a classic lane is just a skill match up?

It's still the pre-season so adjustments can and will probably be made.

the adc is still the most consistent late game damage dealer.

If you're behind, stack damage. If you're ahead, stack MR. Rotate lanes. Learn to farm under tower. If they can all in you at any point before six just keep your distance and give up on farm if you have to. If they can't all in prior to 6, punish their aggression. Bait them, call in for ganks from mid if no one is jungling. If there's no jungler poach the jungle for red buff gold and xp before going back to lane.

There are options. And until the community settles into all of the changes it's going to be bumpy but in the end the game will be better for it.

Of course if you look at some of the other regions, that is the normal, maybe riot is trying to push us to move that way, as we are stubborn Americans.

AP duo bot always countered conventional adc/support duos. It just transitions into the mid game better now. Nothing wrong with that.

No, you're absolutely right about the trend, and here's why:

As support gets more gold, and mage supports are left as strong with that gold as the currently are, they will be less and less incentivized to peel for ADC. If I have AOE spells and I build damage on support gold, why would I waste those spells to peel 1 or 2 divers? Also, as gold is distributed more evenly across a team, AOE damage becomes more attractive than single-target damage. Both of these point away from running ADC currently, as you can just run a mage that doesn't need peel and can deal AOE damage.

A lot of people are going for the troll lanes as I call them. For now most people will be doing it because of the Targon's Brace being stupidly broken. Hopefully once Riot saves the game from being this dumpster mess that it is now, adc/supp or the traditional combos that are adc/supp will make a "comeback" once Riot fixes things. So for now join the community and troll everyone in the solo q market.

Unless something is done, I think you're right. ADC's just can't compete with duo AP Carries. With a mixture of high damage and slow/stun/suppress spells, it would be near impossible to gain an advantage as they would push you out of getting the farm you need. Perhaps there is a new strategy we have yet to think of (duo ADC's with Targons?) but I am pretty confident that they will be making changes and lots of them before Season 4 officially begins.
