When you report as unskilled, what is the "punishment?"

Say for example I reported a player as "unskilled," would the "punishment" be that their hidden elo/mmr might be lowered? I can see this report function being used as a positive tool to allow players who are too high in ranks due to boosting/etc to be dropped down to their skill level.. I can also see it being abused very easily.

My main question: What ACTUALLY happens to people who get reported as unskilled?

My guess is nothing, but a definite answer would be helpful :P

Reporting someone "Unskilled" puts you in a category of "NerdRager" which notifies poros on ARAM that your cookies are not delicious and the hearts generated are 10% smaller.

Everything I've ever found about it is it's a placebo for people who want to report someone who "can't play". If you think about it fundamentally would every single person report every other person from level 5-29 in every game for being unskilled as compared to... a diamond player?

Why that option even exists, I'll never know... but someone... somewhere knows. You say I'm unskilled today, tomorrow you go 3/12/5 in a game... who's unskilled now?

Lyte confirmed years ago that the Unskilled Player report does not lower Elo/MMR, and in fact has no automatic effect.

I have also pondered this.

I don't know for sure, but considering they say on the report that "it's not a punishable offense" I think they just queue them with lower ranked/lower leveled players. It wouldn't be a real punishment as they say because the player likely wouldn't notice.

Can't find a refference anymore, but I read that it does in fact lower mmr.

However all report funktions in general are hard to abuse though, one report will do nothing. Only if you gather several reports in different games from different people, will there be a reaction.
