Riot's thought process behind adding a third bush on top?

I must be missing where they listed their initial ideas on why this 3rd bush needed to be added onto top lane specifically.

Why did riot add this new bush into top lane specifically?

What advantages/disadvantages does this new bush offer?

What hidden uses might this bush have/will this change the top meta in anyway?

Just curious and can't seem to wrap my head around it. All opinions (and facts!) are appreciated. Thanks :)

The only thing I can figure is that it reduces the impact of the bushes on top lane play. They didn't really reduce the amount of bush up there, they just shortened them. That way, it'll be a little easier to defend against champions like Rengar because you'll have a much smaller area in which he can hide. Cho'Gath, for example, could almost cover the entire bush with his Rupture, meaning it's more dangerous now to hide in the bushes. Moreover, with the length of the top (and bottom) bushes, people can easily duck into them and pop out on a random side to escape. With less bush to cover, they have less paths to escape, which means they'll have to play more carefully.

i think they did it to give more counterplay with bushes like with akali/rengar. and to give 2 v 1 lanes an added thought and also to make it harder to just ward all the bushes against the hooker supports

I do wonder if the difference in lane bushes may end up making a difference in lane swaps in high level play, where the difference in brush control approaches might matter.
