#justice4Eve - Evelynn Complete Relaunch Needed

An excerpt from the following thread: http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=4254027

I have never been so frustrated at the condition of a champion in my life.

  • She has the ultimate of a tank. But she doesn't have the base stats nor the kit to support it
  • She has the E of a melee ADC. Yet the rest of her kit and her base stats does not support it
  • She has a movement steroid too general purposed to even define her.
  • She has the Q of a mage, a spamable bread and butter spell, yet no burst of a mage assassin nor utility for a utility mage
  • She has a passive of an assassin, yet does not have the kit to actually use it.

All in all she has no identity, synergy or consistent theme. Her background and her kit doesn't even add up. Her visuals are outdated, and she hasn't had a new skin in years.

Have you been watching the LCS? Diamond has been doing work on Eve. I agree she needs a VU and a new skin and maybe even a lore update, but her kit is fine imo.

Making the arguement that 1 pro player is doing well with X champion does not show balance an health of a champion. She might be "strong" but all for the wrong reasons.

The same argument could be made with Rengar (who is many top player favorites), Yorick (who is used in Korea do to the incredible pressure he can place against enemy teams), and Kassadin (#1 ban rate). All of these champions are getting reworked.

Out of all of these champions Yorick follows the same issues that Eve does, his kit splashes everything, and in solo he is considered weak. Yet, under a team that can heavily coordinate with each other, he can be a monster.

Eve is currently in the "Rengar zone". Is the zone where a champion is so unhealthy for the game that Riot nerfs his kit until the chance of him actually being able to untap his/her potential are so dim only elite players can be proficient him/her. With Eve the issue is simple: you cannot see her. You can't see her unless you commit ( pinks are not an answer: perhaps you mean pink+costant harass+pink protection+perfect jungle pressure). because of that, she needs to stay weak: it was proven even in LCS stream, diamond eve is not really a display of skill, he justs walk in the lane, which cannot be pinked without the enemy laner noticing, walk in the brushes, then attack the enemies if he comes too close, all the while the enemy as to be cautios in all three lanes because there is no way of knowing where Eve is.

Before balancing her riot needs to find a efficient counterstealth to include in the game, otherwise, she will be nerfed as soon as she becomes viable.

http://forums.euw.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=1548965 Here is one of the suggestion I made about a possible stealth counters that doens't involve simply removing the stealth from the champion (as was suggested with Rengar).

I have very much the same feeling on her condition as well. I think there is a way to rework her to re establish her ideal state of being some sort of assassin, and keep her stealth. Something I have been thinking is the following

Passive - Shadow Walker

When enemy champions loses line of sight of Evelynn, she gains a temporarily stealth for 1,1.5,2,2.5,3 seconds.

While Evelynn is out of line of sight with enemy champions, she regenerates mana and health at double her current rate.

The idea above is to provide both her options to outplay her opponents, all the while giving her opponents the ability to outplay her.

Regardless of any adjustments, I'm inclined to think (after seeing rengar and olaf ), that as long as Eve is proficient she will be furthed nerfer as long as pro player picks her. Riot is very wary about counterplay nowaday, and Eve sitting in the brushes as Diamond does has either to go away , or it has to flow into a scenario where, even as Evelynn you gank a person overextended, that person has to be able to run away from you (as on live), because otherwise Eve would be very frustrating to play against.

it has been proven times and times before that new pinks are really weak when confronting a champion as eve, who can destroy your wards, ignore them, or just pass by unseen, without commiting resources (Eve sees a pink? Perhaps your safe from THAT gank but she will destroy it and return after a while, if not camping that brush waiting you to pink it again to attack).

I think that as long as long-duration stealth has no viable counterplay, Eve won't get any sort of changes which aren't nerfs.

Again I agree, that long non tactical stealth is not in the best health of Eve. With her success in the LCS it will be a matter of time of complaints then eventual nerfs. She truly needs a rework to re distribute her power back into the combat aspect of her kit so she may return to being a True Assassin.

That's a path she will most likely tread if Riot doesn't find a compelling counterplay to long term stealth.

To be honest, that is the least appealing solution for me: if Riot's quit on Eve and simply rebalances her power without the long term stealth, it would mean they are currently closing the curtain on stealth in this game for a long time. Which means stealth would most probably be reduced to very short term like Kha'Zix , or on the trademark champions like Shaco or Twitch.

I'm not a huge fan of stealth (outside Rengar), but to lose this factor of the game means losing a facet of the game, and it's a loss no matter which side you look at it.

I'd be much happier if they started experimenting with items and new wards/trinkets to reduce the pressure of long duration/high availability stealth (Evelynn, Rengar, Shaco, etc), while retaining that feature on the champions who use it without the need to hammer them down with nerfs, until stealth counterplay is no longer needed because the champions who use it can be outplayed when they pop out of stealth without much effort.

I understand the reasoning behind removing such items, in essence, if an aspect of a character can so easily countered by an item with little to no cost. Then you effectively removed that character from the game.

In essence, like most items, they are meant to enhance the counter play of other characters, not be the ended all, be all of it.

So I understand what you are saying, but then again, I see where the issue is from Riots perspective.

I also think thematically, a "shadow dancing" stealth actually would fit her better, then a perma stealth.

If you read the item suggestion I posted, I think the counter to stealth should be in 2 categories: for long duration stealth, you get wards that reveal the enemy PRESENCE , but not their position(i.e. they are still stealthed, but they ping if someone is near). For short duration stealth, you use red trinkets and pink wards as on live.

I tried to open a topic to discuss this, but thanks to this OP community upvote system, it was pushed back with a single downvote -.-"

You obviously haven't tried black cleaver, lizard elder, manamune evelynn. Her E wrecks !

Mirage Night1 votes

I no interest in a bruiser/melee ADC build. I wanted to play one I would play Yasou. I bought her on release because I liked her for being a stealth assassin. She is losing this identity. And I am not the only one who is pissed at this either.

Black cleaver, lizard elder, manamune evelynn is almost an assasin. Her E alone takes away half of any squishies HP. Combined with your ult and spamming Q, they should die quickly. Just because she isn't pure AP anymore, doesn't mean she isn't an assasin. Learn to adjust.

I will respectfully disagree, she isn't an assassin anymore, and you are kidding people stating otherwise. I have looked at the numbers and the changes and they are not in a good direction.
