Well when. Considering how long Diana has been out, and instead of progressing their story line like they did with TF and Graves, we get a fucking reset button and our characters are worst off. WTF
One problem with the Diana-Leona thing is that they weren't really developed well before they got infected with the Targon space parasites. Jaredan mentioned he hates 'wiki' style entries to learn about lore but essentially all of their releases for Targon are just... walls of text + a Taric Comic.
People read the wall of text. People can think it's neat, well-written... but worst thing about it is that it's unmemorable.
So basically we have the Bard problem. These people are infused with so much power that their thinking is beyond mortal souls so how can we possible emphasize or relate to them... hence, how can we care about them?
Also Leona as a inquisitor of righteous, zealous, Nazi-like fury and a Diana without agency is kind of a weak revisioning of their story.

Only a handful of stories they did since 2012 (back when the retcon actually happened) is anything more than a reset.
Nobody wants fucking resets. We want progress.
So far the only progress we got was Bilgewater and Shurima (only for Sivir and Azir, the rest got only rewritten).
I miss the old lore team :/ They were some really chill guys and gals.
It's been pretty much set and done at this point. They did what they did to the Targon lores, they're not going to go back on them. It doesn't matter that the fans think they've butchered their stories. We may get an update sometime in the next 2-5 years. That's all set in stone now. Complaining won't actually get us anywhere, no matter how much I feel like complaining. Best you can do to show displeasure is to stop buying Riot stuff and actually stick to it. I guess. I don't really know, I don't think Jaredan actually cares about some folks whining online. If they did they would have brought Trundle back years ago.

Honestly, their new lore is absolute garbage. Like a few other comments here say, it just makes the two of them space parasites and turns their story of being friends turned enemies due to different religions/beliefs into a case of Kayle and Morgana, but worse developed.
I don't get it. Instead of just taking the grand Targon Event and saying okay guys we are going to work on their long lores and present it with the rest of the event, they said "Ok guys come up with ideas for the Targon Event on how we are going to say that we are working on the Leona and Diana's lores (Part of the Targon Event)"
I'm sure sometime in 2018, when they do another complete Lore Retcon because they realized how much they have messed this one up, they will talk about Diana and Leona again.
Eye roll. This again? I think the only parasites are the people complaining here on the forums. I urge people to not bother with them, because at the end of the day they are just crying because the new lore don't fit their personal preference. These people have long since have their head stuck in a dead tree for so long they can't hear anything other than their own.
Now I'm off my soap box, go play some urf and enjoying my new lore.
