Ready player one

"Wow!” said the main character. “That’s a Pac-Man reference!” He turned to the only girl ever mentioned in the book, wiggling his eyebrows violently. “Do you know what Pac-Man is?”

The girl character nodded. “I’ve played Tetris,” she explained, and the main character’s eyes widened in surprise. That wasn’t all, however. “I also have an extensive Funko Pop collection hidden away in my dystopian hell-home, organized by series and alphabetical order.”

The main character swung his katana around in a wide arc out of sheer glee. “Bazinga!” he shouted. “That’s a Big Bang Theory reference, but that’s not important right now! I want to kiss you on the lips, but I’m a very nice guy.”

“I love nice guys,” said Girl. “I can’t believe I’ve finally found one here, in this wild virtual reality universe where all of my 80s pop culture references have come to life in a dazzling display of graphics and sound.”

The main character wasn’t sure what to say anymore. “Bazinga,” he repeated, but Girl had already gone off to get captured by the cyber-police on accident.
