Game makes you toxic, and you will get banned for it.
Let me start by saying this is just mostly a rant, and I understand that I as a person should have more control over what I say and how I act during games. However, for most of us, it's hard to keep your cool in this game for various reasons. Let's go through some of them now!
Feeding Bot Laners: Most of my games have this. I can't tell you how many of my games have my ADC and Supp both going 0/6 while the 12/0 enemy ADC comes running at me. No, really, I can't tell you. I can't view my full match history right now. All I can say at this point is "GG". "But why don't you just focus the ADC?" You're right, we could focus the ADC, if we could focus the ADC. Most of the time, my team has absolutely 0 focus, and when they do have focus, they're focusing the tank... while the enemy ADC picks us off from the back lines. Usually me first, because I'm actually going for the ADC.
Anti-fun Champions: You know what I'm talking about. Teemo, Nasus, Tryndamere. Champions that are completely unfun to play against, and absolutely ruin your experience. You may notice I mentioned all top laners. That's because I'm a top main, and most unfun champions are indeed top laners. Teemo gives you 2 ultimatums. Either burn all your gold on control wards so you can get rid of those shrooms (all while he's punishing you for it), or let him drop those shrooms in the minion's line so you will never be able to push to his turret. Nasus just farms stacks all game, and if you don't have a competent jungler or if you're not playing something that can deal with him, it's GG late game. He will 1v5 and then proceed to take down 2 turrets, an inhib, and before you can even respawn he's at your nexus. Then there's Tryndamere, who will run at your team with ridiculous damage while screaming "HAHA CAN'T KILL ME". These champs are toxic in their design. It's not fun to play against them, because they either snowball way too hard or stay out of your range with whatever dumb gimmick they have (looking at you Heimer turrets). It's infuriating to watch your team chase Teemo behind a grey screen as they all run straight into his shrooms. "ACE"
It's Your Fault, And No One Else's: You're having a bad game. You're 0/6, and if you're jungler you've been counterjungled by the enemy jungler all game. Your team proceeds to flame you for it. Granted, maybe you were flaming first, because your team never followed up on your pings, and you'd die before they even got there, IF they'd get there. "You're trash. Uninstall" fills up your screen. It's completely your fault you're losing that game. Do they flame the 1/7 top laner, or the 0/8 Alistar support who keeps charging into 1v3s expecting his brain-dead ADC to follow up? No, it's your fault. Even though the enemy jungler/laner already had 6 kills from ganking/roaming before he started destroying you, it's your fault. You didn't ping enough MIAs, or you didn't gank enough times. God forbid anyone on your team use their own vision and pay attention to their surroundings. Nope, all you. GG uninstall you piece of trash.
These are some of the things I deal with on a daily basis. I bring this up because I just got a two week ban for losing my cool against a Nunu Jungle (man must be hard to jungle with 2 smites). By the time I was 0/4 I had lost my cool and was talking shit. I had pinged for help, people wouldn't come. My laners started calling me shit because of my poor score. Claiming that I had fed the Nunu. Thing is, Nunu has such a fast clear that he was ganking way more than I could, and had picked up several kills from lanes. By the time he was invading my jungle and destroying me, he was already 10/1. Only a fraction of those deaths were from me. Then I'm trash because I'm losing to a 10/1 champion when I have no good escape from him, as he will just slow you and deal massive damage. Flash cooldown is too long to help me get away every time. Now, could I have done better with vision? Yes. I should have warded more. I also shouldn't have raged so much, but it was the last straw. I had dealt with garbage champion designs, feeding teammates, and getting the blame thrown on me for the last month. I was releasing some frustrations. However, that doesn't excuse my teammates calling me trash and telling me to uninstall and that I suck. I had a bad game against a hard jungle counter. So naturally because of my toxic attitude, I get banned. I wonder if the people who called me trash got banned? Probably not.
If you're like me, this game will feed a flame of anger. You will lose your cool because you've had enough of it, and then promptly get banned, but is this a bad thing? 2 weeks away from League may be good for me. It's hard to put down the game on your own, because this game is an addiction, like cigarettes or alcohol. It's bad for you, but you can't quit. This opinion may be different for other people, who might say "You're bronze, git gud". Usually these players are gold or silver, which isn't much better than bronze. What infuriates me is they're bringing up my rank in normal games, like it matters. Rank doesn't mean a damn thing, and the rank system right now is absolutely garbage. It is so hard to climb out of bronze when you're a solo player. Every game you just have to pray you don't get feeders or "first time this" in ranked. Yes, people do that. Or the classic "I haven't played in months" and just decided to queue up in ranked. Then you also get counter picked, and do poorly in your lane while your other allies allow the rest of the enemy team to snowball. There goes all that LP I earned today. This is why I quit playing ranked. 9/10 games I either do bad or have a team with no focus, vision, or knowledge on how to group, while the enemy team will be 100% coordinated and dominate us. It's not fun.
This game as a whole is toxic. There are so many champions in the game that League will never actually be balanced. You will always have a handful of champions that weren't noticed and now dominate due to recent changes in the game. Bronze is also completely different from higher tiers, so champions that are weak in higher tiers are gods in the Bronze tier, because most people don't know how to play against them. I've been playing this game for years, but I'm still in bronze because the game is constantly changing, and I still have a lot to learn. That list of things is growing every day. I also have my own flaws as a player that keep me in this tier. I don't ward enough. I get tunnel vision a lot and can be easy to gank. Then, of course, there's my salt levels. I believe in fighting a champ 1 on 1 when I'm in top, and will often get angry when the enemy top laner just pokes and prods and plays very passive. I want to fight. I'm not playing this game to bash minion heads in for 20 minutes. Then I get mad at laners who constantly need ganks from their jungler, which is hypocritical because there are times when I'm up against a hard counter or having a bad game and need ganks. Maybe I'm just mad because they actually get the ganks, while my jungler will often focus on bot lane (rightfully so, because this is an ADC snowball meta), and have to just sit under turret for 10 minutes. Fun.
The worst thing about this game, and something that I sadly contribute to, is the community. There are so many toxic people that play this game. 9/10 of your games will be filled with some sort of flaming in the chat, and if they're not it's because you can't see the enemy's chat. This probably isn't much of an issue in the higher tiers, but in Bronze people are super toxic. They're mad at you for feeding, even when they're the ones feeding. Like me, they get mad when you can't understand simple things, like don't chase the enemy into their jungle when we have no vision on the rest of their team. I personally hate it when I spam pings for dragon and my botlane just continues to farm, when their bot is gone and it's the perfect time. Teamwork is vital in this game, and that's hard to do when you're solo q and are playing with a bunch of random people who may or may not know what they're doing. You either have to carry the game or pray that someone else does. Usually carrying is not an option for me, because I like to play off meta and unique stuff. Sometimes it doesn't work out, but it's the only way I can enjoy this game. I'm not like the other players who enjoy playing the same thing over and over. I like variety. One of my personal favorites is AD Tank Nidalee. It doesn't always work, but when it does it's really fun. The new runes help to make even more unique builds and sets. However, when I'm doing these kinds of unique things, I do my best to not feed, and I play safe if I don't think it'll go well. Even still, I'll get "report for inting" if I do anything like this and have a bad game.
All in all, the game is getting worse and worse every season. People are still as toxic as they ever were, and are being given more reasons to be toxic. The game can't be balanced because Riot focuses more on new champions and skins than actually working on what they already have. They care about the money, not the experience. That could be personal opinion, though. Anyways, please leave your own insight on the game below. Let me know what you think about this game as a whole, and its impact on you. I will personally say that back when I quit League for months, I actually improved mentally. I felt better as a person. However, I couldn't stay away, because I've spent so much time and money on this game. Thank you for reading all of this. For those of you who just scrolled all the way down...
Tl;dr Too bad, just read it all.
