People keep getting hacked. We should take class action. I am tired of reading this everyday.

Riot does nothing. Tired of reading. "I got hacked and then got banned.". There is a post on it everyday. This is getting out of hand. Do something. Since your username is different from your ign. Somethin' has gotta give. Someone is doing something wrong and these accounts are getting hacked. People keep saying "I dont give out my password". Well, how is this happening? Ockhams razor suggests someone at Riot is leaking passwords etc. Fix the in house problem then.

Ockhams razor would suggest that individuals happen to have their account stolen because sometimes people are a little lax on being completely secure with their own password and account information.

That's a much more simple solution than a systematic failing of several checks and balances present in any sort of database security.

If Riot stores passwords in plaintext (which is what you're suggesting) we have an entirely different problem.

The more logical explanation: they fell for a phishing link, got one of their accounts compromised and due to using the same email and password across multiple platforms they lost control over everything.

If you want to complain then do it about 2FA or the lack thereof.

There are programs that are linked to things like op.gg that generates all the usernames in a certain range in around 5-10 minutes, from there you get an infinite proxy list and the program starts putting in millions of passwords a second for the selected username until it gets a hit. However this whole thing can be simply avoided with 2 step, but rito refuses to add it so...

Simplest answer:

These were bought bot accounts

Banning for bots happens in waves. So a big surge in threads for "3rd party programs" is to be expected.

Kids entering their passwords where they shouldn't or sharing it willingly doesn't qualify as being "hacked".

Not sure how you idiots are being hacked. I was still able to login to my account despite not playing for almost 5 years.
