I've seen the gaming industry as a whole diving down this slippery slope for too long to know that's not happening. Will it make them more money? Probably, so everyone's going to do it.
I would love it so much if multiplayer shooters would just go back to the model where you can unlock everything non-cosmetic through gameplay and not take 1000 hours to do it.
