The kench idea

So in the recent tweet I saw a concern with the test changes for kench about him becoming to good top lame when he is supposed to be a support.

And I had an idea that would potentially fix that issue.

Make his ultimate passive of bonus damage not apply from HIS attacks but his allies attacks when he has at least 1 mark on the target.

This means his solo damage will be lower, weakening his solo lane. But his group damage will be stronger as his allies typically hit a target much more often than he does due to attack speed of adc, more than one person being able to attack, Exc.

What this would so is let the kench enhance the damage output of his allies while his will be weaker for solo laning. So similar to how Leona works with her passive. She makes her allows hit harder while providing the CC and peeling.

This can be offset a little by making it so when kench triggers the stun on Q or eats someone with W it will gain the bonus damage from R passive still. Making his combo still have good power to it, but his basic auto attacks won't be as strong.

I think it's frustrating that support champions are always punished for finding another role to play but every other lane is free to do as they please.

Twitch and Ez can jungle but lets not let leona proc her passive on jungle monsters. God forbid Lulu can Mid too.

It's so strange to me, and then when other champions are bullied out of their lanes, they come crawling to support, like brand, annie, lux, and zyra.

supports just need more power at baseline than everyone else so they can defend their adc, but need this power to not scale well

if the baseline power is too much, the support is viable elsewhere with power that wasn't intended for that role

if the baseline power is too low, the support fades from viability

my point is, they want kench to apply the damage, they have the design they want for the champion they want, but getting that support balance just right, on whatever ability is responsible, especially in a game where they can't update one thing at a time, is going to be very difficult and is an enduring problem that has plagued league forevebb
