The only ahri skin I won't own

I'm not contributing to this prestige point bs. I don't have $100 to blow on this. How in any way is this supposed to be "prestigious" anyway? Is this some sort of way to segregate the league community between poor and rich or something? I honestly have no clue why this whole prestigious thing was made, I don't think anyone even bought the aatrox skin.

I've mained ahri since EDIT: I started playing, I grind out a decent winrate and ~6 kda each season. I buy all of her skins on release, but Riot I'm not a f*cking idiot I'm not falling for this bs.

Yep, voting with your wallet is the best course of action in this situation. Maybe Riot will tone down after enough people will stop buying them.

General Matty2/21/2019, 1:21:37 PM31 votes

Yeah i wouldn't pay 100$ for a piss colored skin either.

Creamy Eevee2/21/2019, 1:49:55 PM16 votes

Sad part is even if we dont buy it theres some shmuck out there who will and give riot bad encouragement making do this over and over again

I don't understand why all the kda prestiges can't all have the pass treatment...its really annoying. And the point system overall is annoying... If they really wanna force it down out throats at least make it so we get points per rp purchase/ skin purchases with rp...not just loot purchases...

I buy a decent amount of skins for champs i like/play. And I also get the passes since i play enough to warrant it...I don't however like loot boxes as i usually just outright buy the skins i want. So only giving the points that way is terrible for people like me who don't really like rng loot...

Rito plz...

It honestly feels that way. I remember a thread where someone was making the argument that these skins aren't for us, but for people who have the wallet for them and tried to compare it to buying an expensive car. My bet is Riot is in the same boat making these skins for people that can buy them to allow them to show off a rare something or other.

You're dodging a bullet though; that is Ahri's worst and ugliest skin by far, even with the changes. Just use Foxfire, it's much better imo.

Lęmon2/21/2019, 10:02:50 PM2 votes

preach. Its fucking bs. $100 for a skin (not even a decent one)? sounds like something a degenerate crackhead would come up with.

Yisuuna2/21/2019, 6:29:11 PM2 votes

Would've been happy with it if it got the event pass treatment. Def would've grinded out since I play her alot anyway but yeah, 100$? Rito you're crazy.

I remember a post a while back from a Riot rep, that said they could go "many ways" about the prestige system. And that they were testing the waters to see how the final system was really going to be. I guarantee this $100 to get prestige points shit aint gonna work. NOBODY is paying 100 dollars for a fucking skin. I remember how hard I had to fight myself just to drop $30 dollars on Lux's elemental. But if you notice Riot's patterns, they tend to release things on blast and then nerf them little by little, because I guess its easier to take away then to add (new champs for exp.). I guess that's what they're doing. "lets see how many dodo's are willing to pay 100 bucks and see if we can keep this new "prestige" line at that price. If we can't lets drop it to 50". Watch.

If they want that much money for a skin it better be a crazy looking one, not some chroma that sometimes is not even as good as the original skin. They're trying to create this thing where people look at each other and say "wow look that guy got the super rare prestige gold skin!!" but the only thing we're really thinking is "wow look, that idiot paid $100 for that crap, her tails look like pee LOL".

VOTE THIS COMMENT SO RIOT WILL MAKE PRESTIEGE KDA AHRI AVAILABLE THROUGH TOKENS NOT PRESTIEGE POINTS

Since kaisa and akali were available through tokens it only makes it fair that evelynn and ahri are the same. I want this skin the most out of all 3 and Im willing to grind for those tokens VOTE THIS PAGE SO RIOT WILL SEE THIS AND MAKE PRESTIEGE KDA AHRI AVAILABLE THROUGH GRINDING THE GAME AND NOT $125 PRESTIEGE POINTS.

I wrote stuff like this before you and I fought the prestige idea I created many posts in this boards but every time they end up with big number of people devoting me. Ok ok and now this guy talk about it and he got no hate ok OK I see you league community

If it wasnt for the fact I saw the character name slapped across the skin, Id think it was a new champion entirely. Her tails look god awful and hardly defined, the animations are lack luster compared to her other skins, and her hair... like what on earth is that style? No clue what their deal with with giving Pentakill Kayle and Ahri the annoying "notice me look, I want to be edgy but my hair says I like playing it safe"

Axzarious2/22/2019, 9:17:11 PM1 votes

They should change Prestigious to either Autist's or NEET's. With the amount I had to grind to get the Kai'sa skin, I'd reckon you'd have to be either of those. Thank god I had a few days off, or I'd have never managed to get the skin. Never again. What's even more insulting is that after the Kai'Sa skin, all the others have been simple gold palette swaps and are even less worthy of your time and money.

So your complaint is that there's going to be one Ahri skin you won't own, despite being an Ahri main? Is this supposed to be the headline news or something? Something unheard of when we're discussing "champ mains" topics?

Makarakarn2/21/2019, 11:39:00 PM1 votes

If yaaa dont wanna buy it, don't buy it. If ya doooo wanna buy it, buy it. Please be aware, your purchasing decisions/opinions about your lack of said decisions do not affect anyone but yourself.

Congratulations, you're not a total whale. Seriously though, what do you personally lose from the whales patronizing Riot by buying these overpriced prestige skins? They're a bad deal from the average player's perspective, and I'd never buy them personally (despite having plenty of money to afford them), but the people who do overpay for them are funding more development for content that we all benefit from. So I say let the whales buy their $100 yellow chromas, and let Riot reinvest those high margin profits (on minimal dev work) into more work-intensive lower-profit content that actually improves the game.

Think about it like this: would you be upset by someone simply donating $100 to Riot? What if as a thank-you for the donation, Riot sent donors an autographed poster or something of that sort. Would that upset you? If not, then we can narrow down why you are upset by the prestige skins - you are upset because you feel some sort of obligation to impulsively collect the prestige skins because of how they have been presented/marketed, but no such obligation actually exists.

To be honest I don't think this was strictly Riot's idea, this seems much more of a Tencent encroachment move to me. Mid last year Riot were apparently having issues with them over Arena of Valor and declining profits, the prestige point move is likely because Tencent was moving their resources away from Riot and pushing them into Fortnight and PUBG (yeah, Tencent owns them too...). To justify getting those resources back, Tencent likely put them up to this as a way to raise profits.

Posted this in another thread about the same topic.

its just not fair how the two before this skin kda kaisa and akali were available through the pass but then we have to spend $100+ to be able to get this skin. ive been waiting for this skin for so long and when i saw that it was finally going on the pbe i was so excited but then it all went down hill when i figured out that its going to be obtainable through the stupid prestige points

That skin line is for a different market

JuiceBoxP2/22/2019, 2:23:58 PM1 votes

This is sort of like iphones cost 1400$ and you can get the same phone with same hardware for 400$. idiots buy, prestige sells.

If you really think that a single prestige skin has that effect, then the entire system that they want money for every skin does the same. Believe it or not, but there are players not having the money to buy skins at all.

Prestige skins are not meant for the average player, but the total LoL fanatics and biggest supporters of Riot Games. You don't have to like it, but that's how it is. You don't want to spend so much money on this skin? No one forces you to, but there will be people willing.
