That being said, don't fucking cry I ban him because you hovered Ornn.
I see people who do this in both Normals as well as Ranked & I have mixed feelings about it.
Now in Ranked, I can understand why people don't want him on their teams. He simply isn't that good in his current state & has only been out for roughly a week. Ranked tends to be difficult as there's always that chance you are partnered up with a Teammate that essentially becomes 'Dead Weight' (For a multitude of reasons such as Tilt, Low Skill, etc) & will have to be carried. Now if say Ornn has to compete with a Carry-Top laner such as
and maybe
, but does so poor that these champions become a extreme threat to your team, you will have to coordinate with you team as 4-5 people in order to deal with that threat. Otherwise that Carry will end up being the opposing teams win condition. I've personally had matches in Ranked like this & it devolves into a living hell where all my teammates do is bicker among themselves instead of putting their heads together. Now am I the kind of guy who would want something like a Newer champion in my Ranked matches? No, I would rather take a break from Ranked until people figure out what the Champion in question is supposed to do than go in & possibly lose LP.
Normal queues are an entirely different story. Normal Queues are where people are supposed to test out Newer Champions (Technically, Bot Matches & Practice Tool better suit this goal. However, you will need to go into PvP at some point to test out your Builds & Stratagems). I've seen people in Draft modes Purposely ban Ornn despite teammates declaring him as their intended pick. This is usually followed by "I don't want Ornn on MY team" or "You probably got Auto-Filled as Support & just want to play him". Behavior like this is rather selfish in my opinion & while Normals should be treated seriously, you shouldn't treat people in such a manner as it more or less makes the game unfun for other players who actually want to Learn/Play Ornn (Despite Ornn's Mediocre 35% win rate). Now if Someone on my team wants to play him, I kindly oblige to their desire to do so. I even once played a Game of Trundle Support as I quickly discovered that he does have some Synergy with Ornn & to a degree, plays almost exactly like Ornn Support.
Bottom line here is that I do agree people SHOULD take it easy on Ornn in Ranked as he brings very little to the table & could be more trouble than he's worth. However, try to take it easy on those in Normal Queues and take it as a Learning experience (Playing with/Against Ornn).
