Like when your whole team is grouped trying to take Baron/Elder and you all die in a teamfight. Then you wonder how you lost so badly until you see your mid laner trying to kill an inhib. "My team is fighting the other team so Ill just leave" Is that really what goes through their mind?
The thought process is that your team should notice you're not there and shouldn't engage. If they stall out the fight you get a free inhib. It is normally the better call when your teammates don't derp and fight a 4v5.
Splitpush/backdoors work.
However, Your team didn't quite get the memo of "Don't die"
Backdooring works best when your team is actually baiting Baron and you have a very fed Yi on the team.
