"I'm not buying anymore RP/uninstalling. I just can't support a sexist company"

Nobody was saying this when men were belittling women/sexually harassing them in Riot's offices. But exclusion against men is where the line is drawn? You can't tolerate a company that's sexist towards men but you can tolerate one that's sexist towards women? Isn't that sexism?

I've been saying that pax isn't the problem, it's the way they handled the original problem (the racism and sexism within riot workspace.) I think the community has been patient in waiting for an apology and then when they do this pax thing instead of why people are mad. they ignored the original problem and act like it doesn't matter and isn't a problem.

As a customer I don't care what happens in a company. If they have a problem with sexism it's their problem and they better fix it.

If I'm being excluded from an event because of THEIR internal problems then we've got a problem. Don't drag me into your pile of shit, I don't want to have any of it. I didn't harrass women, I wasn't an asshole, so don't punish me for the actions of a minority of assholes.

Can we quit it with this bullshit? The article exposing Riot's sexism towards women was right at the top of the LoL subreddit and everyone was pissed. Shut the fuck up about this "hurr durr nobody cared when it was about women" bullshit. It's 100% false. The women-only workshop was a direct response to the backlash about that article to begin with. A really, REALLY shitty response, but still a response

I'm sorry, where were you? It came up then too, as well as people questioning if they wanted to apply to work at Riot games any more. Your selective memory is showing.

Beyond that, there's other differences between the two instances:

  • Some people were dubious of the claims in the Kotaku article. They preferred some more concrete proof before jumping to conclusions. In contrast, Riot themselves has provided concrete proof of the PAX treatment.
  • Riot produced a plan to correct the problems with their employees. Riot has not produced a plan to correct the problems with how they interact with customers.
  • The harassment was individuals discriminating against a sex. The PAX instance is a company as a whole discriminating against a sex.

This is bullshit. Apparently you're fine with lying if it works for your agenda. There was plenty of shitstorm raised about this if you bother to take five minutes to look at the various forums on the internet.

Because once women started coming forward about the sexism they were facing no one was defending it and Riot responded that they're looking internally.

This was brought out and Rioters are defending it and currently Riots stance are that they are "proud of their panel and the Rioters at PAX"

Do you have any evidence of that?

There's a difference between individuals' actions, acting in a sexist way that is condemned by the policies of the company and being publicly stated to have been punished by the company for abusing employees and condemned by the other employees

And the company itself holding sanctioned events that are condemned by the policies of the company and the individual employees abusing customers which is approved of by the other employees.

And people did say they weren't going to support them, for your information.

it's purpose is to get more women interested in careers at Riot

Where they can be referred to as a ho, made the subject of sexual remarks and "jokes" at their expense, prodded for answers about their sex life, and accused of being a sexist for preferring to share a hotel room with women.

Because Riot fixed the problem! They excluded men from some panels at an event.
