It's funny because they submit to humans, can't speak against it, and can't comprehend most things. Including basic human interaction.
A dog can understand what you tell it, even if it doesn't understand the words. A dog knows true loyalty better than most humans. Most dogs will show unconditional love for a master that cares for them. Dogs are incapable of deception.

Nah dogs are equally as bad as humans, the Witcher 3 showed me this.
Also humans use the potty, dogs doodoo everywhere.

The 30,000 year old bromance is worth celebrating. Dog is truly man's best friend. I can't deny that for much of our history, our relationship was based off of utility, but my dog Buttercup was an awful guard dog who constantly fell asleep on the job. I still felt a hole inside of me when she died this past summer.
