You say that like kiting him is utterly simple.
you act like he doesnt have 2 dashes a stun, potential flash
Wood division mistake, Renekton is insanely powerful early on, which helps him get ahead and usually stay like that, also he can dive you, stun you and chunk you then dash back out.
