Controlling the narrative and Riot

I made a long, well thought out post about freedom of speech. I did make SOME references to politics, but it wasn't democratic or republican. Nor arguing for either side, freedom of speech is something everyone decided on already. I'll clarify in saying this ISN"T ABOUT POLITICS. It's about philosophy. Or "general discussion" lol. Riot doesn't want a general discussion though. Really they want to hear their voices come out of your mouths, honestly. That's how restriction of freedom of speech works. It's not healthy guidelines, they're biased guidelines. Just an idea, it's not an angry idea, it's a humble and reasonable one. Some would say common sense. Its the default code of ethics all humans contribute to. Inalienable rights, you know? It's not a hot button issue, I implore the moderators to see reason. If anything this conversation is directed directly at them. Or more so, the people at Riot who outlined their guidelines. Not that politics should be banned from being... Discussed. It clearly shouldn't, conflict happens in nature. You can remove yourself from things we all go through, indifference isn't optional. Safe spaces are just illusions. They never work when you have them, if anything it perpetuates the toxic problem.

Arguing for what you think is right, isn't optional. And that meeting the world had with Google, and internet conglomerates was us, the populace, accusing them of controlling the narrative online. Certain posts would be removed, for no clear reason. (Ironic) Certain famous speakers on tons of different subjects would be banned or silenced. (I might be banned for this) Simply because it didn't align with a companies designated narrative. "What is okay to say", pretty much like those white boxes in club penguins where you had to choose what you said. In Riots view, when you play League of Legends, you're playing League of Legends dammit. You're not talking to nobody, you're not exchanging ideas. That could be "inflammatory content", your game is associated as being the most toxic community in the world. They don't like that, but we do. We're fine with it. If you're being real, not everyone will like you. Not everyone can be your friend. It's nature. Hell, it's the laws of causality.

So freaking weird dudes. Now not only are insults illegal, but things they believe that lead to insults are! Just because I mentioned some "politics" as if you could label it as that when there was no argument made, and politics is described by a conflict of two ideologies or more... But I'm not here to teach the moderators common language. I'm pretty much saying, that you should copy and paste the constitution into your terms of service to start off. 'Cause if companies all restrict free speech, if snapchat started banning everything sexual or political, angry or inflammatory, then facebook does it, google does it, even Riot does it... Eventually.... We'll live in a country where the only place free speech exists is the most unlikely of places to share a dialogue these days. In person. It's wrong what Riots doing, you can accuse this whole post of being wrong if you refer to their guidelines. I'm sure, they make it easy to turn any post you don't like into that. That's exactly the problem. "Anything that will lead to an argument" is super, super, super vague.

I know, I know, most of you hate the idea of letting toxic players be toxic. I know, a lot of you wanna instant ban certain factions of society from being represented on social media or video games. But segregation is wrong in all forms. If you want to build up artificial walls around yourself, be fake to everyone you see, "Hi, how you doin? Lovely weather!" then that's your decision. Not mine or anybody elses. If anyone here ever makes a game, don't ban people for being people. Don't try to control and change people. It's not your place, you can't be so conceited to believe that you could. I know, as humans we desire control, we want power over others, naturally. But Riot, I implore you to rethink your philosophy on the dialogue around your game. We don't want to talk about LCS or teamfight tactics. We just don't, it isn't interesting that's not our fault. When we're playing your game the things that naturally come up are often negative, mostly negative. This isn't the players fault. The reason the game is so toxic, is because the game itself is toxic. The mechanics that make the game fun, also make it frustrating and unfair at times. A lot of times the dialogue we want to have ingame are insults directed at RIot, for certain changes or patches. You can't stop us from doing it. Even moderators here may ban me now, but it won't ever stop. The pressure will keep building behind this fake dam you built around yourself. Until it cracks and caves in. Everytime someone tried controlling the narrative of the populace, it blew up in their face. Every. Time. Now if any moderator read this, I'm sure it's getting removed and will further prove my point to those who catch it first. I insulted no one, made no direct political reference, and do not intend on having a heated debate in comments. I just wanted people to remember some freedom. What it's like. How easy it is to ignore others, or embrace their ideas. But we'll never know if we don't share them. And if the online corporate conglomerate doesn't see that, then we need to confront them everywhere. Here, facebook, google, review sites, forums, youtube, anywhere conversations are had period, we need to liberate them. Viva le revolution'

TL;DR - Post basically says Rito owes us freedom of speech because 'Merica. Ignores fact that Rito is privately owned company and can make its own rules. Womp womp.

So you want a discussion free of politics. Okay.

This is Riot's property. They have a right to say what is and is not allowed on their media. It's theirs. To demand otherwise would mean that you're demanding to have more rights than the content creator's themselves have over their own stuff.

And that's just asking for a form of dystopia on the internet.

Not 'cause of merica. Canada, England, pff even Russia. It's not political. Dystopia is exactly what I'm worried about if we let companies design their own rules. There are rules for every person to share, companies shouldn't be exempt from the law, right? I mean you could make a car but you aren't free to run people over with it. Or run it off a cliff just because they're inside. And to be clear to moderators, this isn't a heated debate.

Aerowaffle I'm familiar with your posts. Why do you spend so much time on here, for years you've been here. It's strange. Not insulting just confused as to what your motives are.

Alright then let's see. I feel that you've been impolite and disrespectful. So I'm reporting your comment for harassment.

You know, I KNEW I'd be talking to YOU. On a website about a game with millions of players, the two of us having a conversation. How? I haven't used this site for months, every few months I'll come on here, make the same post, then I get you every time. You're very active on these forums, it's not even long after I post. Your level hasn't changed either, in like a year. Do you even play League of Legends?

I'm not sure you represent our community maybe you should go play farmville seems more your style. No players to offend you there. I don't even know why I'm posting here when the only person I'm convincing is you. I am the majority, I'm preaching to the choir here, if I go on reddit or anywhere with a good chunk of the community, they agree completely. So I suppose I'm just wasting my time, was a fun convo though. Cya later.

I'm jsut going to leave this here; As per the Boards Universal Rules, we do not tolerate posts that discuss:

Religion Sex Politics Any social issues, though some exceptions may be appropriate While we understand that players may be passionate about certain topics, the topics listed are problematic on the Boards because they generally end up derailing, leading to arguments and insults.

Just so people coming here don't have heated angry intentions. I know, I know, Ironic of me to say. It's kind of to prove a point. Exceptions, grey areas, ya' know. It's either all okay, or none of it is.
