Chat Restriction Suggestion

Hey, a support main here with a suggestion for all you toxic laners. Not that I have a problem with toxicity, I'm actually apart of that sect of the community that is fine with trash talk in competitive games. Which might offend you already, I mean no offence. If you don't want to hear it, like a chess player you should be free to demand that before competing with a person. So I offer this olive branch.

The naughty list. Essentially, after a 25-game chat restriction, you are added to an exclusive group of players known as "Negative Nelly's". As an as- I mean negative Nelly, you're ability to chat, is gone forever. Yep. Gone. You don't lose your account, you lose your ability to negatively impact a players experience. Tit for tat. Justice bitc- Nelly. As a fiscal conservative, I believe banning a player over superfluous input with feasible action, is as hypocritical as an eye for two eyes. If we're supposed to be the bigger, better person, we have to act like it. So, under the "all chat" box in options, you'll find a box already unchecked by default. Called "Toxic Chat", where at your own peril, can check to communicate with players who did not heed chat restrictions in favor of trash talk. If you're one of those guys who plays league for that reason, you can trash talk with those who share the belief. BUUUUUT I would also throw a ping out there too if it's anything of sustenance. Though, I'd take it easy with them, since while on this list the cooldown for pings is more than doubled. Of course this is a system that'll be improved with over time.

And a huge PR move by League, they'll unban all accounts banned for toxicity, and automatically add them to this list instead. If they did not cheat, feed or script, they do not deserve to be put to death over words. Only those who wasted a game for others, should be. That's my belief. I think the bulk of the community agrees.

I expect the feedback to this to be harsh, and rash. Though, I don't believe this forum reflects the whole of the community. I visualize the "one ups" now. People will say things like "We don't want toxic people to enjoy this game.", or "It's Riots game, they have a right to ban who they believe deserving.", no one is arguing either points. Well I guess I am arguing with the former, I believe people don't want others banned for trash talk. Another view point will be; "I don't want to be in solo Q with people I can't talk to." Ironically, I think you'll have better players since people who trash talk often take the game more seriously. Or you could risk it and uncheck the toxic chat box and get in on the trash talk. Or if you're a concerned parent, leave it checked. Also, I don't think communication is vital, since you don't have time to type out plans anyway, that don't tilt each other anyway. Like "please group" is just a please assist ping anyway. Which is less toxic. As a thresh main, I value communication above most of you. I'll go as far as to ping a minion to let my adc know, poke it down so I can hook just before it dies. Surprise BITC- Nelly. I don't like harassment either, and racist, bigoted, sexist things should remain bannable offences.

What do you guys think, though like I said I don't expect a friendly response lol. Most people report out of malice, and want assh- negative Nellys' to be punished. But removing their weapon of choice, is being the bigger person and allowing them to grow to see the error of their ways. That to me, is revenge. Turning the other cheek, is the ultimate fuc- freak you Nelly.

• Felt like I had to add this point, this stops the buck guys. No more new accounts recycling toxicity. You'll see it less often since once they're on the list, they won't go on to make another account most likely. Your kids, will be more protected from it, and you less tilted from it. Harassment is different than trash talk, sexual, racist things that aren't classified as free speech are still bannable. Saying "F$$$ You, gg ez" is different than (racist thing) or (perverted thing) or (threatening thing).
