I Don't Understand Yuumi's That Play Detached From Their AD Carry In Lane.

Sure there are times when you should, such as to get an AA for the shield. But then shouldn't you hop right back on? Plus, don't you deny the bonus AD/AP which is the WHOLE reason for Yuumi. (Sure as heck aint her CC or her heal) thats why im scratching my head when I see yuumis play seperately and only attach sometimes. I questioned one and she told me "This is how you play the champion" Is it? Cause it seems like everytime a Yuumi is deatched for any length of time they seem to get bursted by a few autos and a single ability from the support. If i'm wrong, do let me know. but I honestly see her as an Item and without the item i tend to get outraded because they won't stay attached. (i see i got downvoted but i am serious are you supposed to play her detached or not?)

If you're detached you can proc your passive for shields and mana, and you get to stay safe unless you walk too far from the carry and can't leap back when they throw their CC out. If you're attached you can actually land your strong ass Q pokes and boost your ADC with Zoomies to help them dodge CC. You have to do both to play Yuumi optimally. Staying attached all the time is like trying to play Janna completely from the backline, only shielding and peeling with tornadoes. It works, just not very well because you aren't using the whole kit. Oh also you're not worth very much adaptive force in the beginning, so when you're trying to DPS something down like the jungler's first camp, you're better off hitting it yourself than enhancing their attack power. Also also Aery will proc whenever you go from unattached to attached. So your carry gets a little bit of shield on top of whatever shield you've generated with your passive. Good for Lux Es. Unless you're going Guardian Yuumi, which isn't great IMO.

you really should be attached a majority of the time 90%+ and only detach to proc passive when you can also gardian into knights vow first item is literally the best for her

Yuumi's autos do ~34 DPS. Early on, her W passive only gives her carry ~1 AD. Staying outside of them lets you put more pressure on the lane and on the enemy.

By staying unattached, you are able to bait skillshots, help your carry push/thin the wave, punish the enemy for CS, and generally contribute more.

In the early game, you should only be attaching to avoid skillshots, fire your Q, or heal/shield your carry when they're low. Otherwise, you should be out and about providing damage with your autos and trying to bait the enemy into committing cooldowns on you. As the game progresses, you will be spending more and more time attached as your Q cooldown gets low enough to spam and your W passive actually gives your target more damage than you would contribute outside them.
