Pyke/Overgrowth interaction?

Trying to add Pyke to my champion pool. I see some info that says that Pyke's health actually does increase with this rune, rather than it just being converted to damage. Is that correct? Can anyone give me a solid explanation about how exactly his passive interacts with this rune?

Pyke does not gain bonus health from Overgrowth. However, it does increase the value of health items.

Right now, Overgrowth increases current and bonus health, based on minions dying nearby. This means he gets AD from the rune directly, AND he gets a small chunk of bonus AD from the health items he buys. You may be thinking "Pyke doesn't ever have any bonus health, this rune does nothing", but the increase to bonus health applies before his passive converts that health into AD.

That said, the amount of AD you get from this rune is inconsequential for the amount of time it takes to stack it up. Pyke needs power in the midgame, not the late game, and this rune amounts to basically a free Longsword 40 minutes in.

Always take Revitalize in that slot. The bonus healing is just too good to take anything else. MAYBE take Unflinching in a hard CC matchup, but getting a small amount of extra health every time you dip out lets you sustain in lane longer, survive more damage, and make more plays.

EDIT: Overgrowth has changes on the PBE, making it give you flat HP instead of a percentage that stacks infinitely, plus a chunk of bonus percentage HP when you reach a certain threshold. This will make the rune better for Pyke, since he gets more AD from the rune that he can use early on. I'm not sure if it will overtake Revitalize, but I'll definitely have to try it.

Okay so revitalize does increase the healing when he is unseen, then? I wasn't sure about that either. So does that mean the the Spirit Visage passive works in synergy with that as well?

I kinda figured that those didn't interact since the healing amount stacks from the damage taken. In other words, I thought that amount would be capped at the grey(ish) health bar or whatever you want to call it.

I haven't seen any changes yet... I guess I need to search that. Thanks for the info.

By the way you can test it for yourself too in practice tool. Just check when the runes are working and when not :) Also I have noticed (and it might just be my impression) that pyke's overgrowth stacks faster. I only play aram so it might be that every time i play pyke I don't die a lot so it stacks faster but I see the %HP rise quite rapidly. Could this be because the indicator compares the number to pyke's actual hp number to display %? So because the rune number increases(from stacks or HP items) but the Champ's true max HP doesn't the actual ratio increases more quickly? I'll test it now
