Solution to Autofill Problems

I recently got autofilled top, a role which i avoid like the plague, and no one was willing to switch with me. Instead of complaining about "my team never switches" (they do 9/10 times for me), and how "I'm always autofilled" (I rarely get autofilled, and I put jungle/mid), I sucked it up and played top. Picked Shen, didn't do bad, and we won. After the match, I suddenly figured out how to never be screwed by autofill: learn to play every lane/role to an acceptable level (including support), and have a few champions that you feel comfortable playing. For your main roles, play whoever you like. If you're a jungle/mid like myself, and get top like I did, pick something easy (don't first time Riven or Fiora), like Shen, Malphite, Maokai, Trundle. Mechanically easy champions. Same goes for other roles where you're not familiar with the champion pool.

Here's a list of champions that I would pick in a role I didn't know how to play Top: Malphite, Maokai, Olaf, Trundle, Cho'Gath, Garen Jungle: Amumu, Sejuani, Rammus, Vi, Shyvana, Olaf Mid: Annie, Ahri, Lux, Ziggs, Twisted Fate (only if you have good map awareness) ADC: Ashe, Sivir, Ezreal, Caitlyn Support: Leona, Soraka, Blitzcrank,

Alternatively, play a champion you're already familiar with in a different lane (ex: Yasuo can top/mid, Brand can mid/support, Corki can mid/ADC)

Anyway that's my take on this. Hope this helps someone.
