Stop Crying About Autofill

I get annoyed by being autofilled as much as the next guy, but autofill is better than what we used to have.

When I started playing you had five players screaming at each other for their role, and you played what was open, meaning if you had the last 2 picks you'd pick whatever wasn't already picked. Constant chaos and trolls and people holding champ selects hostage with their "mid or feed" bullshit.

You were expected to be able to play EVERYTHING to a competent level. You didn't get to choose your preferred roles, you hoped you got first or second pick. If you didn't, you could either bitch about it, play the game or dodge. And it was like this every single game Now, I get people don't like being autofilled, but as a longtime player, just shut up about being autofilled. Play one game, then you play whatever you like the next. Stop being a bunch of spoiled brats about it.

Now I'm not saying I enjoy being autofilled, hell I pray for support when I'm autofilled, since I avoid top like the plague, but when I get atuofilled, I don't start bitching about "Riot hates me blah blah rigged blah blah autofill is shit." I express my discontent with playing support briefly, play the game like normal and move on.

Just had to express this after seeing so many complaints. Not expecting to change people.

Tl;dr stop complaining about autofill because it used to be a hell of a lot worse.

It's true that it was so much worse with the old system, but what people are annoyed about is the fact that Autofill exist and why it's always on...Which is just to make the que times go quicker. Most people would rather wait another 2-5 minutes to get one of their roles than to get randomly placed into a role. I get that higher elo might need auto fill due to less people playing but for the majority of the players being in Bronze - Gold, our que times are not all that bad. I just think we should get an option to turn on or off que time (And no...Playing 1 game of Support/Fill to get 1-2 games of Autofill Protection is not enough).

Also Riot forced us in this perm auto fill (Which I could of sworn they said Autofill would only be active during less popular times, but it ended up being on all the time)...They added this to "reduce" que times, but now we get more trolls in champion select/game, and so much more dodges which in the end increases the que times to even higher than what it would of been if autofill wasn't active.

Quality of games > Quantity of games, at least imo when it comes to ranked.

Season 6 had a near perfect champion select though. I feel like it would be reasonable to only have autofill on when queues exceed x minutes, or have it optional (ie: queue as fill).

people only complain about autofill because it's become the next thing to blame their low ranks on.
