I think part of the problem here is that people want different things from their ice skin. I didn't get Frostblade Irelia because I wanted Winter Wonder/Snowdown Irelia skin. I saw a cool, technological combat skin with an ice-elemental theme. That was what appealed to be about the skin; that it was in a similar arena as PROJECT skins while diverting towards the elements.
If they released a separate Winter Wonder/Snowdown Irelia, and I thought it was awesome enough to get, then I would get it. But that's not what I got Frostblade Irelia for. That is not the fantasy that was fulfilled by my getting the skin.

Ya I actually tried to see if I could get either a refund or an exchange from this skin and they said its not possible, this skin is definitely ruined. It might be better without the fur on it but either way the hair looks ridiculous too. They basically turned the best skin into the worst.

Artistically speaking and for the sake of variety that was a stupid choice.
It makes her look far to similar to Karma's Snowday skin and takes away the original look of the old skin. Let' say if you recently bought that skin and then this reworked happened, you'd probably feel a bit robbed.
It does nothing new or better then any other skin so why even make? Even skins along a line will typically mix it up. This is just shameful.

Instead of a massive flop of fur, they should have given her armor that actually covers her shoulders >.> maybe accents of fur? I dunno, I liked the robotic feel of the other skin but I guess it makes more sense for her to wear fur in a 'frost' skin? ....no, can't go with 'makes sense' when they have her bare shoulders exposed to the cold

Yeah I don't know what Riot was thinking with that. The original concept was fine. The only thing they kept was the ice hair and that's about it. The new design looks more like it's for the Freljord, while the old design looks like hextech fused with ice or something like that. It feels like this design should be a separate skin from Frostblade. In this new design, the frostblades don't look like blades. They look like needles. All the other skin designs were pretty close to their original concepts. I don't know why they decided to go off the deep end with this one...
