Is there a way to get rid of the "It's pre-season, who cares" mentality?

Probably a dumb question but figure I'd just throw it out there considering Pre-season ranked is just absolute garbage. Getting paired with people never doing ranked before, people playing champs they've never played before, or just straight up feeders or afkers. Like even after you tell someone that their LP still carries over next season, they still don't seem to think it's true, which Im almost inclined to believe cause these same people are still getting into gold.

These players have been pissing me off ever since the pre season started.

Why the fuck are people 1st timing champions in off roles in ranked now? Pre-season gives them NO rights to troll like that.

Normal draft pick exists for a reason, FFS.

heres the question though if they gave out rewards why bother playing ranked if ranked is done? idk why bother if its gonna reset anyways.

LP doesnt carry over to the next season, since you will have to do your placements again.

It's the only way they can cope with the dumpster fire that is Riot experimenting for the next season.

That being said, it doesn't excuse trolling and people first timing in Ranked are trolls in my book. Bots and norms exist for a reason -- use them to practice then switch to Ranked.

Riot themselves planted the pre-season mentality on the players by not taking it seriously and changing the game drastically and when confronted about it by the players, being told to calm down it's just pre-season (and later on it's too late because it's like, sorry we're too close to mid season!). Meaning, Rito expects people to not take the changes as serious as if it was a seasonal climbing because they're still experimenting new crazy things.

The truth is: Who cares?

I'm not saying straight out inting and griefing, but the games should be more relaxed because they don't matter almost at all. Ranked que in the preseason is a glorified normal que.

Ah MMR you say? They won't really place you up if you didn't climb alot, same goes if you don't fall alot, because nobody frakking knows their MMR black magic fckery as they change the way the early placement goes in every season

Like Preseason they do a bunch of aggressive changesat the start, do a slow adjustment period before the season officially starts, and by that point they assumed they did enough work for the game to be pretty balanced and they work from there.

If the devs don't even care about Preseason being fun to play or remotely balanced because "lul its supposed to be broken, its preseason" then don't expect the players to. And to be fair, it is a testing period, but usually there's never any major changes by the time the season starts. Mostly bugfixes and tweaks. Feedback is often ignored during this period unless its something almost everyone is complaining about.
