@Support Tanks: Stop delaying your Targon's Brace!

Do you WANT to be poor compared to someone who rushed his/her Nomad's Medallion or Frostfang? One charge per 60 seconds (instead of 30 seconds) is a surefire way to end up with no money.

Why do you still have a Relic Shield 20 minutes into the game?!

I would rather rush sightstone and boots of mobility first then upgrade by support item

I take it you rely solely on takedown money to get you through early-game, right?

Sight stone rush is good, though I can wait for boots. partially depends on what champ I'm playing.

but OP is going about it the Wrong way. A Support is suppose to function with Very little gold. But the real question is "What item would make me a better support?" The answer to that question should be your next item buy. If the answer to that Question is more items and more gold, then sure, get more GP10, but you shouldn't be tunneled into thinking that Increased GP10 is a best answer for the support.

the whole Relic shield line of items are good for tank Support for more reasons than just the GP10 That why it even gets upgraded. (unlike the Spell thief line) But I still wouldn't prioritize that over a sight stone.

Well I usually play Alistar and Janna, who both like Boots of mobility, but I'm not a support main so I just try to get sightstone and boots and then go tanky from there

Alistar doesn't need too many items to be tanky. His tankyness is almost entirely in his ult. More supportive yet tanky items that are good options include Locket of the Iron Solari.

Don't recall too much about Janna, though when I played her, I was able to delay boots, thanks to a) her built in MS buffs, but also the MS buffs from Talisman of ascension.

Because many supports are kit reliant, their item paths usually include utilities that are more useful to the team, which is not nessarly tank stats. Things like Mikale's, Locket, and more recently, Banner of Command.

On Alistar I build locket or thorn mail and lots of tanky items after sightstone and boots, and for Janna she is really easy, not really needing any items as she just shields, heals, and peels, so I do build helpful support items for speed boosts

I just play Janna and Alistar when as a support and Janna goes Ancient coin most of the time, as Alistar I do try to go for early plays and use the relic shield one most of the cannon minions to get some money

I try to at LEAST get a sightstone typically, though to be fair I'm not a support main so maybe that's wrong.

Typically, if I have enough money for a Sightstone when I back, I'll pick it up before upgrading to Targon's Brace, since I value Sightstone more.

The vision it provides makes it very difficult for the enemy jungler to gank your lane, you can get Sweeping Lens to create opportunities for your jungler to gank, and you save a lot of money since you don't have to buy wards anymore.

If I don't have enough money to buy Sightstone when I back, I'll upgrade to Targon's Brace, but I find that Sightstone is a more valuable purchase early.
