Just wondering >-> People tell me the item is garbage, but it seems like it might work on Raka's kit?

It's very inferior to Mikaels on Soraka

You need the health regen so you can always afford W's, the 20% heal and shield power is a large powerspike and you can cleanse disables from your adc.

item 3098 item 3173 item 3504 item 3107 item 3222 item 2065 is the build I go for

Transcendence is a must, you sell cdr boots for athenes and go elixir of iron if the game goes late, never upgrade frostfang

20% heal power is like 66 AP on a rank 5 W. Let's be generous and say you have 200 AP at the end of your build if you go Gathering Storm as well. That's 106 AP worth of heal boost from Mikael's. Not exactly a "massive power spike" given that this is at 40 min in and Mikae's gives pretty much no other useful stats other than 40 MR. The active doesn't really offer anything outside of niche situations either.

If you swapped item 2065 for item 3174 you'd gain 120 AP vs the 40 from item 2065. Which is quite an improvement.

Crispy0Snake1 votes

The 20% is multiplicative to the AP ratio as well, it doesn't equal 66AP on anything other than the base stat. It also boosts the Redemption heal, and as I said it gives you health regen which helps you stay out of base, warding, getting xp. Most games will have something you can use it on, most forget the speed boost it gives.

Yea, but item 3222 doesn't give any raw AP on its own. Neither does item 3107. item 3098 only gives a pathetic 20 AP. item 3504 is pretty much the majority of your non-rune based AP.

You'd take transcendence to get some free AP. Added up, that's 40% heal and shield power, turns 200 + .6AP into 280 + .84AP, you're also at cdr cap and redemption heals for ~600-750hp at that point. You get 80AP from transcendence if you reach level 18 full build, and a load from GS.

I take resolve secondary for font of life and revitalise, aery, manaflow, transcendence, GS, then CDR, AP and MR runes. The CDR rune gives 20 AP at max rank. Your lucidity boots become AP boots.

Your Q already gives you an MS steroid when kiting the enemy, and Soraka has a base HP/5 of 11 at level 18. I doubt 30 HP over the course of a 15 second fight will amount to anything of real value in comparison to the Q healing the extra 80 AP would give you anyways.

Athene's will give you a significantly higher healing spike than Crucible will. Also, HP regen as a stat devalues with game length. Athene's is the better item unless you specifically need to cleanse things. Also, there's no rule against buying both items.

Sure, you don't get the hp regen for your hp cost, but that regen isn't strong enough to matter.

When I play soraka and I get redemption, it always feels like mikaels should be next. Mikaels gives +60% to the redemption active. For me it adds enough health regen to the amount redemption gives that Mikaels makes the health regen a worthwhile stat. It goes from useless to useful imo. Also you never really do damage often enough on soraka for the athenes passive heal to be a consistent and effective bonus. The AP it gives is only worth it when you have all the mana regen items imo

Athene's has a way higher up-time than Redemption.

Not saying Redemption is bad, but I am saying that you gain more from pushing values into your in-kit healing off W than you do pushing value into the Redemption heal, since Redemption's heal is pretty solid even with minimal investment (not a good first item, though).

Why not upgrade frostfang? Just curious, I don't play lots of supports with it

Rathar Dashing1 votes

It was probably short form, usually it's best to leave it at frostfang until you have gold to spend, since the raw stats you get from upgrading it are pretty weak.

floo1 votes

Ah alright. Thought they meant not even at full build. Like there's some special interaction going lost after upgrade.

Crispy0Snake1 votes

TL; DR You get: One bonus ward per b, 200 hp and 15 AP... for 950 gold. You're way better off using that 950 gold to buy control wards and get your items sooner.

To put it into perspective if you consume 3 TRIBUTE charges a minute, it's about 5min of your time (4min 53sec, 950/(6(20.4+2)+3*20)min ), so you'd delay Ardent (Or Whichever item you put on hold to build EotW) by 5min to get 3 marginal stats. The upgrade becomes gold efficient when you use 2 of the BONUS wards, but if you think that's good, you're forgetting that the item passives/actives on ardent/redemption etc. are on another planet of gold efficiency for Soraka

floo1 votes

Thanks for the response. I already got told by Rathar Dashing, assuming you meant not upgrading until you have the money to spend. Was thinking there was something else beside the gold efficiency getting lost, as a reason why you'd literally never upgrade ff.

Crispy0Snake1 votes

When you get to the point where you have all the items, elixirs will still be better, so even when you get to the very late stages of the game it's not worth it, if you have 1450+ gold when you b at that stage of the game maybe it's worth, but that'll only happen if you pick up a large bounty or get a few kills somehow

ZaneShadow3 votes

Well, it’s more a question of what you wind up sacrificing than is it good. Sure you do some extra damage and the extra AP is awesome, but you give up 20% bonus heal/shielding from Michaels or Redemptions absurd effect. Now if it’s supper late game and the enemy is not running a poke champ, sure, as a replacement for boots. Otherwise your probably going to need Michaels passive to actually work (it gets turned off by Athens) and regen some of that health your giving up to heal your team.

So it’s good, just not what Soraka is best at. If you want a great Athens user who cares more for Damage then healing, check out Nami, kind of the agressive version of Soraka.

Done253 votes

Soraka has horrifically low base to AP ratio scaling on her W. She only needs 333 AP to double the healing on her W. So 10% heal power = 33 AP at 0 AP. So, like Deathcap's passive, heal power is pretty lame until you get a good amount of base AP to power it with.

As for Athene's itself she's not the best at effortlessly charging it, but if the enemy isn't running a five man assassin team and you're feeling ballsy? Go for it. The bigger your heals the less of your own HP you have to spend.

SanKakU1 votes

Her W? She gets more healing from her Q.

Illabethe1 votes

Her Q supplements her W too..... so there's that as well.

P.S. Soraka can charge It fine if she's a good, predictive Soraka who uses Q and E and the right spots to force a champion to walk on one or the other, or both, and succeed in the E root.

When i play soraka (im mastery 7)

i make sure to get transendence and gathering storm as well as revitalize for healing boost and font of life for that etrxa heal and extra ardent proc

I then go for this build every game (order changes)

item 3312 item 3173 item 3107 item 3222 item 3504 item 3174

with this build im getting a lot of CDR to make full use of transendence rune as well as getting a lor of healing boost items as well lots of mana regen to further add AP to athenes..

with this build im getting around 350 - 400 AP every game on top of maximising the healing boost from items

its very strong with her ult as it basically heals full HP on any squishy

Only downside to this is that youre vulnerable (extra squishy ) and dont do much extended healing (spamming heal loses you a lot of HP etc however this Hp is brought back with wish and redemption which is insaley boosted thanks to the healing boost and AP you have

Don't listen to the meta drones.

Everyone is going to have an opinion here, but the simple answer relies on a question:

Can you hit Q's reliably and constantly?

Then.... sure. It's viable. Not only will it apply to W, if it's charged when you R, and you R someone who is less than 40% HP, it will ALSO be boosted by R's Lower than 40% Criteria, meaning you will almost 100% heal that person.

If you cannot reliably hit Q's then no. I wouldn't.

I want you to look at this "Loss" of mine.

https://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2955210647/243999882?tab=overview

That's what Soraka is really capable of. Yet, people don't fully use her.

(The "Loss" was a result of Hecarim and Kayn going yolo 1v5 and diving so deep I couldn't rescue them, while Caitlyn was just pure inting trash)

-I Outdamaged Hecarim (30k Damage) -140 CC -41k heals -41.4k damage taken -50k Damage mitigated

Yeah. I hit Q's. I could literally duel Jax in this game, because that's just how predictive Jax's kit is.

If you can hit Q's like this, I would say Athene's is feasible.

The support discussing Mikhael's sees her as Unreliable, and this he centers his advice around "Security" rather than "Skill." Which, for some players, is a legitimate argument. Same goes for the Warmog's Arguments (You don't really need Warmog's, especially if the opposing team has the ability to Isolate you in a team fight. You'd be better off with tankiness and hitting Q's).

Your wards :C

Illabethe1 votes

Meh. Would have been higher if the game wasn't in accelerated lane mode. 90% of the activity was in lane pushes with all approaches warded/visible. We were actually winning most of the game, until Hecarim/Kayn began getting overconfident and diving 1v5's. When you're winning, you don't ward as much. You push objectives, and only ward where risks are. In a game where there are no risks, you ward less.

There was no purpose sticking to Caitlyn, so I warded less for her. Soraka can't follow Hecarim/Kayn, so there's no real practical warding for them. I was basically stuck warding for Drakes or pushing a lane with Zzott while we were winning.

When we got to their base, Hec and Kayn kept diving 1v5's after Inhibs, so not much use warding there.

If you look at the kill map, literally 80% of the combat activity was their side of the map. All our deaths were in their base. All their deaths were in their jungle.

SanKakU1 votes

To be more accurate, only 2 of the enemy's deaths were in your base, and most of your team's deaths were in the enemy jungle and the enemy had a lot of deaths inside their own base. What that's telling me is that your team foolishly relied on you healing them up to full while they tried to end the game, and you couldn't be bothered to do your job so they couldn't carry you with their apparent lack of skill.

Your own team can't even boast of many deaths inside of your own base. It doesn't seem like your team tried hard, not trying to pick on you personally, but you seemed to be part of the problem rather than part of the solution.

Illabethe1 votes

What Pray Tell...... is my job as Soraka? To keep up with a Hecarim or Kayn who dives 1v4 or 1v5 into visible fights?

Couldn't be bothered to do what?

Let me break down deaths per Team:

Soraka: Jungle 1 River 2 Lane 4 Kayn: Jungle 2 River 2 Lane 10 Hecarim: Jungle 0 River 2 Lane 6 Caitlyn: Jungle 1 River 0 Lane 12 Karma: Jungle 2 (Barely) River 0 Lane 7

Sum: Jungle 6 Deaths River 6 Deaths Lane 39 Deaths

Are you seriously trying to claim that most of our deaths were in the jungle?

Blitz: Jungle 1 River 1 Lane 3 Twitch: Jungle 3 River 0 Lane 7 Elise: Jungle 5 River 1 Lane 2 Cassiopeia: Jungle 3 River 2 Lane 4 Jax: Jungle 4 River 1 Lane 3

Sum: Jungle 16 Deaths River 6 Deaths Lane 19 Deaths

Even their status suggests (albeit there are a lot of jungle deaths on their end, indicating jungle action), that The game was almost entirely fought in lanes.

If you bother to track their jungle/river deaths, you'll find that most of them were Hecarim/Kayn early game kills bullying Elise and Jax and a few pickups of Cassiopiea running from a gank.

Deaths A bottom lane support would have nothing at all to do with. They also primarily happened on the top side of the map.

Also, if you bothered breaking down the game, they didn't even reach our base Turrets until 47:47, which is why you only see 2 deaths in our base. The vast majority of the game was fought in lanes - at their base - in suicidal pushes. They were able to push our base ONLY because Kayn/Caitlyn/Hecarim suicide pushed twice in a row, leaving me the only one really alive. I don't mention Karma much because...... she was primarily top most of the game.

P.S. The other team had a whopping 3 deaths inside their own base. Our team had 19 deaths inside their base. You have your stats horribly wrong.

SanKakU1 votes

Oh, I was confused and thought the 'kills' were 'deaths'. But still, Caitlyn died the most at the enemy base of anyone in your team and yet you're blaming the fast melee champions for dying too much.

Honestly, this more accurate information makes you look even worse(especially in comparison to your team) when compared with what you're claiming.

Kayn and Hecarim going in 1v5 after inhibitor

Oh really? And pray tell how is that possible when you're a Soraka with ZRP and they have BC,GAx2, D'sD, E:Ch, and S'sG. You let them do it.

INNATE: Soraka gains 70% bonus movement speed when moving towards allied champions below 40% of their maximum health.

You'd need shamefully low game sense to not be in range of them.

And before you counter with..."but we're not going to do anything 2v5" let me correct you. First of all, either give me the mp4/rofl or the 1v5 didn't happen. Secondly, they have area damaging abilities, just as Soraka does. It's not wrong to conclude that 2 or 3 area damaging allies can wipe out 4 or 5 enemies that are behind in resources. You failing to follow them up consistently is most likely what made you and Caitlyn too heavy to carry. I've seen this too many times from the other side of the Summoner's Rift to even feel the need to watch your replay.

Illabethe1 votes

Are you trying to appear smart by abbreviating to the point of ambiguity when you're just trying to compare what people were building?

item 3512 is not about its tankiness. It's about its mobility, ability to co-push a turret, and add another factor to lane control. I was far more built than my opponents, and won 2 lanes doing it.

You are an idiot for even attempting to presume that Soraka's passive can save a 1v4 or 1v5. That 70% boost requires her to 1) not have opponents in her way and 2) not have her allies die in 1.5 seconds.

I am not a streamer, and it sounds like even if I posted it, you would reject it in lieu of your bias that everything is always the support's fault.

For example, at 34:00, Hecarim's death was caused by this: He dove past the opposing team's base bot turret in an attempt to kill Jax. Instead, he got knocked up by a point blank Blitz E, used a Stopwatch under the turret, and then got camped by both Jax and Blitz. Jax and Blitz then started to try to go after Karma, who was in front of the turret (Hec behind), but when Hec got out of stasis, he dove the turret AGAIN, without a minion wave. He tried then to single out Jax, but was Q'd by Blitz, and knocked up, and finally died.

That all happened under a turret with no friendly minions. Yup. I'm totally going to walk under a turret and offer a free lunch to 2 major CC champs.

(I proceeded to drop the turret after Hecarim died. literally like 10 seconds later. That's how little he could wait for a minion wave)

Kayn then proceeded to duo Drake with me, and then Karma and I went mid to push a wave to keep pressure on/recall after Drake. Kayn instead went into their jungle solo, and tried to 1v4 Blitz/Twitch/Cass/Elise about 20 seconds later. He "Almost" killed Twitch, who got away, was then CC'd in place by Blitz, until Cass/Elise arrived. While running from Blitz, Elise E'd Kayn through a wall, and Twitch saw an opportunity to come back in. He managed to hit Twitch and Cass, killing them before dying, and feeding a 5 kill shutdown.

Rest of team including me went top to destroy that turret.

Hecarim once again..... dived straight past the top turret. separating him from team, dived right past Blitz/Elise/Jax. Jax got a free lunch on Caitlyn, and then almost killed Karma who was standing right next to her, but Karma Flashed, I healed Karma, Q/Ed Jax a couple times and we ended up killing him, but not before Elise threw a spider at Karma taking her final HP.

Meantime, Hecarim, once again, alone in their base, past their turret, was triangulated by A twitch who took half his HP in 2 R'd auto attacks, already having spent his dash, with Blitz and Cass behind him. Hec ulted to get away with less than 20% HP. The others regrouped (Twitch, Elise, Cass) to chase me because Hecarim was out of commission, Kayn just reviving, and they had just killed Karma/Cait. I almost killed Elise, but at 50 HP she Zhonyad and gave Twitch time to catch up.

I Baited Twitch into trying to kill me, Q/E'd, and set up an easy kill for Hec who had healed by then while I ran out of his auto range.

Kayn, I, and Caitlyn grouped top to attempt the turret again, while Karma lagged behind, and Hecarim once again engaged solo..... Mid this time.

He technically died solo to Jax, but had a GA, so we abandoned our top push to come save him. Karma managed to last hit Jax, and the other team backed off a little. Hecarim went in AGAIN in an attempt to get some CS. Got pulled by Blitz and died in 2 seconds face tank to Cassiopeia.

Kayn/Karma then killed Elise in their base after finally taking that turret. I was with them but took damage when Twitch followed up with an ult. Karma also got caught up in it, and Cassiopeia caught up to twitch and killed Karma while we were trying to run, leaving me alone. Almost killed Cass but last second her ult came back up, and she ult/Ignited me right before I would have killed her.

Cait proceeded to int down mid again, and they took Elder while I was dead from the prolonged Cass chase (Hec went top to farm minions instead of Elder).

Hec proceeded to try to back door an Eldered Team and take top Inhibitor. Got surrounded so had to waste ult to escape. Hec tried to 1v3 again, but I did catch up to him, and heal him from 10% HP to about 90%.

Hec tried to backdoor the inhibitor AGAIN. On the way there, Blitzcrank separated me and Hec, so I had to go left when he went right. Hec got swamped, and I got left alone with him already having charged Jax. By trying to save him, I got too close, and started a 50 second trade with Jax where I would hit every Q and E, and recover the damage Jax did before his next Leap, etc. Stalemate down lane. I eventually had to ult to get my HP up enough to stand still long enough to bait Jax into getting Rooted by an E. I got away.

Jax continued to push the lane with Kayn/Hec dead, so I tried to stop him. But...... this time I wasn't as lucky.

Hecarim picks up the kill when he resses, losing 60% HP to a 10% HP Jax.

Hec/Karma group, take Baron,

I go mid, group with Hec, Kayn went top, and Cait went int feeding down bot. Karma based.

We couldn't get a clear opening, so Hecarim decided to dive their Nexus turret solo..... died in 1.4 seconds, even with my ult. Kayn/Karma attempted to save him, got close enough for a Cassiopeia Ult, and both instantly dropped to 10% HP, and died 1 hit later. I was the only one who lived.

Elder spawn window was up, and only me + Kayn alive by the time it spawns. Kayn attempts to solo Elder, but is caught by Twitch/Blitz. so he chases them. They get away.

Hec Karma and Cait proceed to start a mid push. Kayn goes back to soloing Drake.

I Go with the three to support them.

Instead: Hec makes another dive vs CC, and this time dies before his ult escapes him. The rest of us split up. Karma heads their jungle. I head down lane. Cait went to to int again.

They chase me. 24 seconds later and some 10k damage tanked, I die. to a Blitz pull.

Kayn is still soloing drake.......

Karma Recalls, but Kayn's not done with Drake until after their team already takes our mid turret/inhib.

Instead of recalling, Kayn actually started moving toward their base as if he was going to backdoor them. Instead, he turns around after wasting more time, runs back to river before recalling.

Karma then decides it's a good idea to backdoor, and trades a 50+ second death for an inhibitor

Kayn proceeds to 1v4 to prevent a Baron that hasn't even started.

Doesn't even reach a wall before his GA is activated. Hecarim then goes in 1v4 to try to save Kayn from the 1v4. Both die within 2 seconds of each other, and there's no way to heal them.

Free Baron for them. Only people alive: Me and Caitlyn.

I almost kill Jax, but not before Cass succeeds in a mid push. Karma killed Twitch, but not before we have 3v1 at our nexus. Game over.

That's what happened. Literally the entire game. Right there.

So you go tell me all you want: go heal those damn divers. Ignore the Turret that's going to kill you. Ignore the fact they die in 1-2 seconds. You can do EET!

SanKakU1 votes

What a giant wall of text. Apparently everything I've been telling you has been a waste of time.

ability to co-push a turret,

I just told you that your power level as a Soraka to push with this item is far below average, yet you're insisting on including it for reasons to purchase the item. I even told you why it's like that. But you're not reading it or you don't care.

SanKakU1 votes

While I agree with your philosophy of how to play Soraka, I don't like how you choose to approach runes and items for her.

Personally, I would never skip Ninja Tabi against ADC+ADS(Blitzcrank deals a lot of physical damage even without buying AD). And everything you bought except the Ardent Censor seems unlikely to gain you reasonable benefit. If you're that worried about Blitzcrank's silence, Mercury's Treads isn't going to save you or your team. You're better off taking Cleanse+Exhaust and dispelling the silence.

HP is not a terrible stat for her, but it's also not very good. Karma's the only ally that could benefit from your Abyssal Mask, and Soraka can't get good use out of Catalyst of Aeons. Spirit Visage is strictly inferior to Banshee's Veil on an AP healing+silencing champion, even against AD champions(the spell shield + AP is more valuable than the HP and HP regen).

Frostfang(blue income item) against ADC with area slow and a hooking support is just asking to get yourself and your ally killed. Yellow income item puts no pressure on you to Q for income, which means you don't make yourself unnecessarily vulnerable. You simply don't have the casting ranges to justify a blue income item against ADC with a slow as Soraka.

If you want HP, you can buy good items like Liandry's Torment which adds a lot of damage to your kit which has a slow and a snare, a Rylai's Crystal Scepter for increased opportunities for snaring, as well as you can take resolve runes. Grasp of the Undying and Overgrowth are both convenient runes that can keep her from being too low on HP so that she doesn't get bursted down.

Zz'Rot Portal is a pretty good item, but I'm confused why you would favor it over Twin Shadows which provides an extra slow and more vision, as well as the additional mobility. Killing the enemy smite user with TS can win a game. ZRP scales with HP and Soraka has the 9th lowest HP in the game at level 18, meaning her siege damage with it is far below average.

Illabethe1 votes

My build that game was specific to dynamic of the game. We had lane pressure in bot, even with the feeding Caitlyn. I knew that Cassiopeia, and Twitch were their threats, and I generally know Jax's mechanics, so I built to Survive. Going full AP/Heal items vs this team isn't an option, because of the small reset potential they had throughout their team (Jax low cooldowns, Cass low cooldowns, Twitch resettable camouflage)

Mercuries are far better vs Jax /Cass than Tabis. Twitch wasn't really a threat to me (Part of why I built Zzott's as a second item - to run away from Twitch).

The Abyssal Mask was a 5th item afterthought. I would have bought RoA, if it wasn't late game. I needed the on spell proc heals to supplement my self sustain because by that point, Kayn and Hecarim were just yoloing, Caitlyn worthless. I had to worry more about myself than others, and the 25 heal/resist/HP helped vs a high level Jax.

SV is not inferior to Banshee's on Soraka. It's a 30% Heal buff..... SV is the difference between Soraka gaining 15% and 22% of her HP back on a Q. That saves more lives than an obvious one time use Banshee's which can be eliminated by a single Cass skill on low cooldown.

SanKakU1 votes

Maybe I was being too hard on you. I think there's a lot of teams giving up on Soraka players and it causes them to tilt, myself included. She relies a lot more teamwork than the average support champion. Although it looks to me personally as if you just lack experience on Soraka and don't know how to win a game that's practically handed to you by half your team.

It's been said by some previous posters, but just to reiterate, it depends if you can land Qs consistently. In order for Athene's to gain charges, you need to deal damage. Athene's is primarily a Nami / Sona item (imo), but if you're good at landing your skill-shot then yes for Soraka. Soraka

It was a direct response to what you said. I just wanted to see how you built Lux Support so I looked at your op.gg and then I found out that you just abuse the feeding ai to get mejai stacks, E max and build ludens like every other lux support player out there

And then you call something new and creative lame

If that's your opinion of what's lame and what isn't lame then we're at an impasse, I can't convince you to try the build

You shouldn't feel insulted because I think bot games are lame

You could have just asked how I build lux in a normal game, no reason to get personal.

I get frostfang, then build either Athene's or Luden's depending on where we are. I only get dark seal in bot games, or if I'm doing extremely well. After that, I continue to get AP items like void staff and rabadon's. However, if the team I'm on has multiple AA focused champions, or even just one who's doing really well, I'll buy them ardent to help them out in teamfights a lot. Lux needs boots because she's immobile AF, you you get a lot more movement speed from even regular boots than you do from Shurelya's.

A build being creative and new doesn't excuse it from criticism. I could make a new Kai'Sa build with ER, Black Cleaver, and a bunch of other high CDR items to get Transcendence AD, but that doesn't mean the build isn't going to have a lot of problems. Having to manage 3 item actives alone makes the build extremely awkward, and Mikael's on Lux isn't very good as she really only benefits from building AP and CDR. Not being able to buy Zhonya's also really sucks for her. The runes are odd, as well, but if you really just wanted to make a troll Lux that does nothing but sit back and W her team, then congrats you built every possible item and took every possible rune that amplifies her shield power. Even with your philosophy, your runes could be improved by taking Font of Life instead of the non-existent Chrysalis, for more consistent Ardent procs and more healing to benefit from your heal power and HP.

Now that I think of it, it might actually be decent on Mordekaiser. I'll need to summon the expert on the subject.

Morde doesn't use mana, so not only does he not benefit from the mana regen, he can't take advantage of the passive that grants him more AP for mana regen. He'd be better off going Mikael's if he wants shield power, since it also grants him better defensive stats including a cleanse, and even then it's pretty bad.

Athene's isn't bad if you can hit your Q and has a decent win rate but item 3222 is probably better on her. Ask yourself why are you building AP on soraka.

I think item 3174 is great on her. The heals are huge and E + Q stack it very easily. And in most matchups, it also let's me prioritize leveling E (for the cd and free damage) over W. I either grab it before or after ardent, 1st / 2nd item, depending on how I'm doing and which ADC I have.

item 3107 and item 3222 are too situational for me right now. item 3107 is a great item, but damage and CD is so high that from time to time, the active misses because they either die instantly or the person runs out of it. So I usually take it 3rd, when there are more teamfights. item 3222 is very situational; the travel delay on the cleansing active, CD in proportion to how CC is plentiful, and lack of AP make it really lack luster for me. However, it's a great first item if you're facing something with strong CC like Leona Ashe Morgana Veigar etc. Or glacial augment.
