My teammates aren't bad, this meta is just very unforgiving

So many times I've complained about "bad teammates" and "inters" on my team, but never have I actually bothered to re-watch any of my matches.

I recently did so, and I realized that my teammates can't be blamed. For starters, this meta is so snowball-y that getting counterpicked can easily lose you the game. Don't believe me?

Even if you don't die to your enemy laner at all, turret plating gold is worth just as much as kills if you can keep your opponent out of lane. Just five plates=800 gold, meaning even playing safe will punish you.

Bounties are also ridiculous. If the best guy on your team dies once, an enemy can easily snag 1000g and come back into the game, or pull even further ahead.

Then, with the gold they get, they proceed to 100-0 you before you even get to blink. At this point, I can't even blame people for "inting". When a 2-0 assassin runs at you with four turret platings worth of gold, you're usually fucked. Then you lose map control. No map control=no vision. No vision=you don't know where the enemy is. No knowledge of enemy position= you die in your own jg. Dying in your own jg= CAN I EVEN PLAY THIS GAME??????????

That's why the defeatist attitude/"My games are coinflips" starts happening. Things can be perfectly fine in your lane, even in other lanes, but once someone starts getting $$$ combined with the new runes, your face gets melted off by three abilities. It's harsh and unforgiving, because it means stepping a tiny bit out=instant death, which further denies you gold and doesn't allow for comebacks.

Either nerf rune damage, add more defensive options, or nerf bounty/turret gold for the oncoming season.

I tell this my friends all the time. They started 2 and a half years ago and I started in Season 1. They don't care about this topic, they disagree and think the game is great. So, I'm close to being totally fed up if we get a 3rd year of terrible stompy games with crazy damage. I quit and they stay, and Riot will churn their playerbase out. You know churn, right? It is where you trade existing customers for new ones. That is not what you do to your fans. Unless your changes are always quality, churn is not a reliable way to make money. Growth is always better than churn (or growth with minimal churn is good)

The more people are able to play, the more fun they are likely to have.

This is simple logic

High damage = Shorter Lives = Player becoming a spectator = Low fun

And yet somehow... Dumbass Riot can't follow simple logic.

I'm not great, but far too often do I see people back for no reason.

Just killed an enemy and minions are crashing enemy tower? Better to back with full health.

Four of the enemy dead? Let's back instead of take the tower.

Far too often, people are more concerned about kills then they are objectives and that's why people lose.

being ganked early game is also incredibly punishing because even if you survive because pots are 50 gold instead of the old 25 gold, and if you get low from a gank ur forced to back and if the wave is in a bad spot then you are really screwed over based on how many plates the enemy gets and how much waves you miss. And being ganked isn't preventable sometimes, even if you ward, because the enemy jungler can just force dive you if they are fed enough. Even if you have a lane lead, if the enemy jungler is MIA and your team has no control of vision it is impossible to play aggressive to punish the enemy laner becauseif you overextend the enemy jungler will come and kill you. Playing against a fed khazix in solo queue is very tilting and it is almost impossible to stop him from getting 1 random kill over 10 minutes, which causes him to snowball out of control because in this meta, conqueror has made tank tops feel like trash and almost no top laners play tanks because conqueror top picks are the way to climb, and since top lane in solo queue has no tanks this causes champions like khazix to be crazy broken. Sure, poppy and malphite can be good picks, but what can they do against conqueror mordekaiser? Get hard stomped in lane by him and lose game.

Wait a minute.

Even if you got all 800 gold worth of plates, that's less than the gold of 3 kills. Even if someone got 2 kills in lane, but both laners went even as far as CS goes, I wouldn't exactly consider the other person "fed".

But wait, there's more nonsense.

In your post, you're complaining that games are too "snowbally" but then you go and say that bounty gold, something that was added into the game specifically as a comeback mechanic so the losing team can catch up to the snowballing champ, is also bad?

I agree.

Dragons are a big reason it's snowbally too. Get an advantage, take a drake. Give up an early ocean and laning phase is lost in all 3 lanes. Give up an infernal and that's 10% AD/AP... there's no shutdown/catch up mechanic to recover from drakes.

Oh you died once in lane to a gank? GG WP.

Die ONCE in lane and unless the enemy is an idiot who gives you a free kill back, the lane is probably lost from that one kill, which often snowballs into the whole game.

One of my idea was to give turrets a defensive aura at least until plates fall. So diving becomes harder, and you can farm even, if enemy is stronger. Right now you can dive enemy on LVL3 in 3v1, or 4v2. So if mid wins, and roams, then even standing under turret won't save you. I remember enemy flaming their Janna after we dive killed her in 3v1 with Leona, Draven, and Lee Sin before lvl6.

??? This meta is so forgiving, you just have to play jungle once and see how you are the same lvl than enemy jungler even being 10 kills and 60 farm ahead

That applies to every lane. You farm right? Bad luck, the "unforgiving meta" will put a bouncy in you so your enemy can have the same gold than you even playing worse
