Riot caring about Sub-Challengers is like NFL caring about little league.
LCS is important to them. I don't think we should expect them to bring tribunal back (in the capacity it was). Caring about your fan base is something you do while you are on the way and the way down. Riot is in that sweet spot where they have reached escape velocity. They are now orbiting in "corporate perception mode".
We lose small time publishers all the time. And the price of developing a game is quite prohibitive. That is why we always see tried and true games get sequels and so few new titles. This is all stuff you know if you are a gamer. But when it comes to Riot a lot of us have rose colored glasses on. The Leave buster is for them not us. Chat restrictions are for them to save face with the parents that don't want their kids cussed out of lobbies.
The time you have to put in to reach LCS level is ridiculous in relation to casual game play. I bet those guys play in one day what I play in a week. You don't have to worry about trolls as much when you play 600+ hours a month. I average 2 games a day when I am on a bender and I feel horribly ashamed of myself. You have to be making money at it in some capacity to get over into high playing hours. Riot doesn't care about your revenue, streamers. But it is free publicity. At least you have a reason to play a lot.
I think people complaining about the tribunal coming or not coming might have delusions of grandeur **(I count my self along those ranks). ** The odds of someone being held back from challenger due to trolls is pretty low because of hours played. And if you aren't concerned about being on the public tournament scene, Riot probably thinks you can go @#$% yourself. They don't mean it in a bad way but you just aren't that important. LCS is NFL and Gold, Silver, and Bronze (the majorities) are little league. You think they have time to create a system that caters to lil' ol' you?
To long to read? Stop asking about the Tribunal. Go back to the sandlot.
Anyone who brings up Pop warner vs Little league and mixed metaphors... You know what you can do.
